Website Anniversary!

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

Now to make a proper post about the anniversary :) The website maintenance experience turned out to be a crash course on news gathering, delivery, and Wordpress administration. I’d like to share this animated site map to give an idea as to how website views have progressed throughout the year.

Again, thanks for all readers, contributors, and of course to our muse, Yoko Kanno :) (more…)

New Lyrics for Aquarion’s Celiane and Some Policies ;)

Tuesday, September 11th, 2007

Aaaaaaw… Now onto the real post.

To start off, please visit the lyrics page for Yui’s fan-transcribed version of Celiane. I am preparing a list of songs from the Ragnarok OST that I would like people to transcribe, but for now, please hold your horses, my hands are full.

Also, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the readers of this blog for the support that it’s been getting for the time that it’s been around. I never thought a news page would be too tasking, nor that Yoko Kanno would get so many releases this year. Her inspiration really drives me to do these things.

So that being said, I have a short plea for patience because I have been having a hard time keeping up with my work, this, and myself. That’s why I had to make some guidelines and policies for lyrics submissions that aren’t too constrained. The main objective of this site in the first place was to gather fan-transcribed and original lyrics of songs by Gabriela Robin, so I don’t like posting anything that would discourage lyrics submission. But I had to put a cap on it too, if you guys understand.

They guidelines/policies are the following:

  • For gibberish lyrics, please don’t submit if there are already two existing gibberish transcriptions.
  • The webmaster has the right to discern if a submitted set of lyrics does not differ too much from what is already published. An email will be sent to the sender if this is so.
  • The webmaster has the right to discern if the transcription deviates too much from what is really heard. An email will be sent to the sender if this is so.
  • News take precedence in importance over lyrics. Please expect some delay in the publishing of any submitted lyrics especially if the song is not new.

These are also viewable in the Contact page where I presume readers go to if they want to submit lyrics to me.

There, thanks for reading and thank you for your continued support :) (more…)

Intro Theme Translation

Friday, August 24th, 2007

Hi All,

Pulseczar has been kind enough to provide us with the English translation of the Japanese “translation” of the gibberish lyrics of Intro Theme from Ragnarok. There has already been a previous post that contains the gibberish lyrics, the Japanese translation in kana, and the Japanese translation in roman letters.

Here is Pulseczar’s translation:

Still absent, still unseen
Escaped from within my grasp
As large as a little finger’s nail
A fluff, a flower
With no sign that it’ll be there tomorrow

Round, round
A world of happiness
Here where my companions fell
Somewhere distant far from here
A song I though I heard yesterday

Watching from a tiny window
Calling out from a tiny window

The Ragnarok from long ago.

The corresponding lyrics page has been updated.

I, however, am being plagued with worrying on how to credit Gabriela for her work in this album. It used to be that I could classify the songs as either having Gabriela as the vocalist or lyricist, or both. And I could take liberties on deciding which songs sound like Gabriela even though it’s not credited to her, and marking them as such in the lyrics page.

But now it appears that she is credited for vocals at the cd booklet, but not specific on what song! What do you guys think should I do?
