Flying Dog’s Wan Wan Campaign

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012

“Wan Wan” is the Japanese equivalent of “Woof Woof”. Flying Dog now has a campaign with their talents saying “Woof Woof” instead of the usual Flying Dog bark in their newest campaign.

No, Kanno isn’t part of it, but there will be a handful of associated names whose barks I’m sure you’d love to hear ;)

Raj Ramayya to Perform at Anime Conji 2012

Friday, March 2nd, 2012

Raj Ramayya, the vocalist who performed “Ask DNA” for Cowboy Bebop and “Strangers” for Wolf’s Rain, will be attending Anime Conji 2012 from March 16 – 18 at the Town and Country Resort in San Diego, California. He’ll be performing another acoustic set of songs from some fan favourite anime, including his songs with Yoko Kanno! If any YK fans are in the San Diego area and missed their opportunity to meet him at Anime Los Angeles earlier this year, this could be a great second chance to meet one of Ms. Kanno’s many vocalists and hear what he’s been working on!

You can visit him online at www.rajramayya.com, or check out the convention website www.animeconji.org for more information.

AKINO’s Blog Post – Kimi no Shinwa Sale Date!!

Wednesday, February 15th, 2012

And AKINO delivers :) Read the original post here.

Title: Kimi no Shinwa Sale Date
[translation by mai]

It’s the sale date of Kimi no Shinwa!!

Today… is the sale date of “Kimi no Shinwa Aquarion Second Chapter”!! A lot of people told me that they liked, really liked Kimi no Shinwa and Gekkou Symphonia.

I’m very very happy!

Kimi no Shinwa is really bright with energy, with gospel-like strength, and powerful music! I liked the part of the lyrics that goes “ashita boku wa kimi ni deau darou [I will meet you tomorrow]“. It’s very simple, with words that are easy to understand, but because of these words…

Whoever I meet by chance,
today, tomorrow, the day after that, and a year after,
I’ll be excited and look forward to it everyday.
Every person I have met, and will meet.
I will take care of the connections I make with everyone!

I’ll do my best! ^O^

In my new duet with my brother AIKI “Gekkou Symphonia”,
we were both a bit embarrassed because it’s a love song hahahaha
Before the recording, we were reading the lyrics together,
and we were thinking about what they meant!

I am very happy that I got to work with, and sing for the music of Ms. Kanno again!

Everyone, you listened to Kimi no Shinwa and Gekkou Symphonia many times… and now you can also sing karaoke! ^O^

And something HAPPY…

In the anime section in iTunes,
Kimi no Shinwa is #1,
Gekkou Symphonia is #2

(Overall rank has Kimi no Shinwa in #4, and Gekkou Symphonia in #39)

For your support, everyone, THANK YOU SOO MUCH! Thank you! ^O^

I think I’ll further “power up” from here!

Here’s a shot of our recording.
