Wolf’s Rain Unreleased Music

Friday, May 11th, 2007

Two of the most requested unreleased songs from the original Gabriela Robin website are the “Heaven’s Not Enough - Gabriela Robin version” and the one named “Cheza’s Song/Lunar Flower Lullaby”, both from the anime Wolf’s Rain. The scene where Heaven’s Not Enough with the voice allegedly owned by Gabriela was enchanting. I actually replayed that part again and again. Same goes with “Track 15″ in another episode.

So if you guys haven’t downloaded them before, then they’re here once more. The person who ripped the tracks are not credited in the download, but the person who showed it to me is djsilt from YKDB. If the person who ripped it sees this and would like to be credited, please notify me.

I also added some tracks that I ripped myself: (more…)

Unreleased Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Music

Friday, May 4th, 2007

For starters, it has been confirmed via interviews at Anime Expo 2006 with Production IG animators that Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex Solid State Society (phew) is not the last installation to the SAC universe. But it looks like it’s going to take a while for the next series to be released. We don’t even know if Kanno will still be composer for the next series, so let’s just dwell a bit on the unreleased songs :P.

The music you will hear from this site have been ripped by kacper :) The song here which you could listen to using the player below has been enhanced a bit for your listening pleasure.

The Anatomy of Inner Universe: Who Sang/Wrote What?

Friday, April 27th, 2007

There seems to be some confusion among fans as to who sang and wrote each part of Inner Universe. On many youtube videos, you will see “Inner Universe by Origa and Shanti Snyder”. This isn’t wrong, but it isn’t fully correct either. I think it’s more proper to say, “Inner Universe by Origa and Benedict del Maestro”, or better yet, “Inner Universe vocals by Origa and Benedict del Maestro, lyrics by Origa, Shanti Snyder and Gabriela Robin”.

The treble soprano vocals for the refrain are provided by Benedict del Maestro. Benedict is not credited at the main lyrics page, but at the music staff section, saying Treble : benedict delmaestro [m-11][the london oratory school schola], where [m-11] means track 11, Inner Universe. If Benedict del Maestro does not ring any bells, probably his involvement with the Lord of the Rings OST will.

As for Shanti Snyder’s involvement, I sent her an email and she answered: (more…)

Earth Girl Arjuna Unreleased Songs

Tuesday, April 24th, 2007

The Earth Girl Arjuna OST 1 probably has the most Gabriela Robin material found on any Yoko Kanno album. But sadly, not all songs played in the animation was published. I guess there was a surplus of so many songs… The unofficial fan-ripped album created by roxfan of YKDB contains 47 background music tracks in total, and a couple of notable Gabriela-sounding songs in it.

“Clouds” isn’t the official title, we just need to call it something.

Clouds - Track 34:[mp3]http://ykdb.elgen.net/34%20-%20clouds.mp3[/mp3]

UPDATE: Download the tracks here. These are available through RapidShare, so these links will expire if no one downloads them for a while:

Part 1
Part 2

Goliath made fan-transcribed lyrics to “Clouds”. Now aren’t you wondering why those weren’t placed in the OST? Wolf’s Rain and Ghost in the Shell: SAC unreleased songs will be next :)

Origa’s Live Performance of Turn-A Gundam’s Moon

Friday, April 20th, 2007

So. I made this crappy slideshow of Origa singing “Moon” + “Tsuki no Mayu/Moon’s Cocoon” live from the Turn-A Gundam concert. I made it in order to clarify some fans’ perception that Origa sang the original “Moon”, when Gabriela did so. The first part of the performance is “Moon” written and originally performed by Gabriela Robin. The second part “Tsuki no Mayu” is written by Lin Iogi, originally performed by Aki Okui.

Here is a sample of the original “Moon” by Gabriela Robin:

Photos in the slideshow taken from Origa’s official site, The YK Project, and Google image search, edited with a bit of Photoshop.

Oh, by the way, someone has uploaded the real live video in YouTube: (more…)
