Or it could be a cd and DVD!!! Please say it is!
Could be songs by the girls of Mac F (and Alto and Bobby, one looks like a girl the other acts like one) and I still vote Diamond Cleavage by Nana and Klan.
Another must buy cd, my bank account hates me already.
October 21st, 2008 at 1:35 pm
the first thing that popped into my mind when i saw “Tama” was Keroro Gunsou >.<”
October 21st, 2008 at 1:39 pm
Oooh! I don’t even care what it is, I’m buying it. XD I’m looking forward to details.
October 21st, 2008 at 1:41 pm
@fugue – So what is “Tama” with reference to that animation?
October 21st, 2008 at 3:58 pm
YESSSSSS!!
And I do hope your theory’s right, but then again I don’t really see YK making other vocal songs for the series since it’s ended… unless it’s for the movie, but apparently this is not for the movie ^^
October 21st, 2008 at 4:28 pm
@mai – “Tamama” is the name of one of the frogs in that show. “tama” is the sound he/she makes whenever he/she erm… croaks ^^
@Naddie – well, there are still a few unreleased tracks, right? my guess is that this must be OST 3
October 21st, 2008 at 5:43 pm
I though Tamama was a “he”, just very cute. Heheh, a Mac F/Keroro crossover. Ai kun turns into a frog and Keroro starts collecting Valks instead of Gunpla.
Not many unreleased tracks, Neko Nikki, May’n and Maaya’s Aimo. So this should be OST 3 and still the movie OST to come, nice.
October 21st, 2008 at 6:19 pm
more songs ?? …
October 21st, 2008 at 6:42 pm
Maybe they’ll sing Christmas songs. Just kidding
Here’s to hoping it’s a live DVD… or something to that effect…
October 21st, 2008 at 7:08 pm
@Kai – he should be a “he” but his behavior in the show makes me unsure at times LOL. oh, yes… Keroro and MacF are under Bandai, right? i say scrap the Gunplas! it’s time for MacPlas.
whatever this CD is, i’d be quite disappointed if it was one of those “character collection” albums. e.g.: Alto sings My GF is a Singer. fail… fail!!
October 21st, 2008 at 7:09 pm
would be awesome if disc 1 is instrumentals and disc 2 is live stuff.
October 21st, 2008 at 10:59 pm
Yeah ! \o/
More and More !!! ^^
Some songs are missing… In example, when Alto showed to Ranka how to make a paper plane…
October 21st, 2008 at 11:11 pm
Great to see that more is coming out. I was wondering about that since there were some tracks that I liked that weren’t covered in either of the first two OSTs. :3
October 21st, 2008 at 11:45 pm
Any chance these “Nyan Tama” CDs are actually the new Sheryl, Ranka and Bobby singles announced previously? Or maybe they backed out on the singles idea and are now relasing them in like an EP of some sorts (i’m all for it if it means more songs and instrumentals).
October 22nd, 2008 at 1:43 am
yes lo sabia jaja i need you ost now XD
October 22nd, 2008 at 5:57 am
Two numbers means two CDs, CD+DVD releases get only one number.
October 23rd, 2008 at 10:39 am
I think it may be the concerts…
October 23rd, 2008 at 11:07 pm
Yesss!
I love the music of Macross F, it is brilliant!
My dream is that it is CD+DVD, I want to listen to Shao pailong and Tenshi no Enogu of Ranka Lee, in the previous one Super Live.
I love Ranka!! and Megumi ^_^
Thank you mai all told
A hug to all.
October 24th, 2008 at 3:50 pm
JVC’s website for the show says that it’s a vocal collection album mostly including songs from the previous OSTs but also with songs not yet collected on CD.
Seems promising!
October 24th, 2008 at 7:03 pm
Yeah I was thinking it’s gonna be a vocal collection since mai’s details said so, so I wasn’t going to get my hopes up on the unreleased instrumental tracks (some of which I DO love a lot)… So basically it’s kind of a rehash but with extra tracks thrown in?
…I’d still buy it!
Hope YK made some different arrangement of the songs or something though, lol. Just… not the ones which are already popular. We’ve heard 5004 versions of Aimo already, thanks.
October 24th, 2008 at 8:50 pm
If it contains previously released song is it really worth it? All but one of the really good songs are already on OST 1&2 (not counting re-arranged songs). The additional tracks better be stonkingly good, I’m probably going to wait for the tracklist instead of instantly pre-ordering as soon as its available.
October 24th, 2008 at 10:05 pm
Vocal collection? But I’ve already bought OST 1, and will be getting 2. As much as I love vocal songs, the BGM is a nice balance.
October 24th, 2008 at 11:36 pm
i’m with Naddie here. another version of Aimo just might make me go berserk. i can’t take it no more T_T (except if it was Maaya’s version *perks up* i can live with that)
October 25th, 2008 at 12:04 am
Most songs for Macross F have already been released in the 2 previous CD’s. The only ones i can think that haven’t are Diamond Crevasse 50/50 and another version of Aimo that played during episode 1 credits, but Aimo has been played “ad nauseum” already. With so many great BGM’s still unreleased, that’s what should come out. I like Sheryl and Ranka but enough is enough. Gimme “Vajra Rampage”,”Shimes of Doom” and “Hard Chase” (names i’ve given to some of the many unreleased BGMs) and I’ll buy it. A CD with already published songs? sorry but i’ll pass.
October 25th, 2008 at 1:03 am
I hope the remix of Don’t be late is included
October 25th, 2008 at 3:09 am
I’m thinking Macross & Macross7 remixes. “my boyfriend is a pilot” by Sheryl, etc. Plus, Diamond Crevasse 50/50 and Maaya Sakamoto’s AIMO. And Ranka’s version of “Iteza gogo9ji DON’T BE LATE” cuz’ she sang that at a concert and partially in the begining on the series.
October 25th, 2008 at 8:17 am
@Pippa: If you’re talking about the one including Gabriela Robin (or the “techno-lized version”, whichever, I’m not totally sure), then I’m all up for that!
October 25th, 2008 at 1:22 pm
After noting the billions and billions of variations on Fly Me to the Moon and A Cruel Angel’s Thesis *shudders*, plus the fact that I enjoyed the variations of Moon from Turn A Gundam, I have no qualms about another version of Aimo in there.
October 25th, 2008 at 4:22 pm
@Naddie: I certainly am, the one that goes do do do do do do a lot ^^ it gets played in Bye-bye Sheryl when she’s setting up her leaving concert stage preperations as well as 14
October 26th, 2008 at 12:13 am
@pippa
i think that version of “Don’t be late” falls into the BGM category since its mostly instrumental with only that do do do do…. as a vocal. My music reviewing of the series is still ongoing (episode 4) but i don’t remember anyone actually singing in that one.
my apologies if i’m mistaken.
October 26th, 2008 at 12:54 am
@macdawson: I’m unsure, but in episode 14 it does contain Sheryl’s line ‘don’t be late!’ mixed into it, doesn’t it? When she’s flying Michel’s VF? Although, perhaps these are two separate tracks? I was sure I heard a ‘don’t be late’. Which may (hopefully) mean it’ll be counted as a remix…
Although I doubt it ^^;;;;; hears hoping for a lovers only BGM cd!
October 26th, 2008 at 1:30 am
@pippa: you’re right, the “do do do do” is gone and replaceced by Sheryl saying “motteke” (carry me) where needed. But the actual BGM is the same in both instances, a full version of this BGM would probably contain both the “do do do do” and the “motteke” vocals.
As for a BGM only CD, i think it would be welcomed by Macross Frontier and Yoko Kanno fans. the more episodes i re-watch(?) the more unreleased tracks i find and this “Don’t be late” version is just one among many, one can only hope someone will step up and publish this fantastic OST in its full.
But for now we’ll have to settle with ripping the audio tracks from the episodes and filtering them to remove the characters voices. It’s low quality stuff and bootlegish, at best, but it’s better than nothing.
October 26th, 2008 at 11:03 pm
Cool!! Check out my piano version of Ao no Ether from the OST2 Nyan Tra:

November 5th, 2008 at 3:51 am
…the amount of Aimo on that CD is….almost as bad as the fake Aimo cd tracklist XD yet it still looks like something I want!!
November 5th, 2008 at 10:52 am
@Pippa – Maaya’s and Sheryl’s Aimo are there… *__* But no Don’t be late remix?!?!
November 5th, 2008 at 12:50 pm
“Infinity #7 – May’n, Megumi”—- <3 favourite Sheryl song…
“Diamond Crevasse~Tenbou Kouen ni te (trans: In the view park) – Megumi, May’n” ~Is this the version in the Park (obvious) not the 50/50 version?
More Maaya!!! T-T *crying with joy*
Is it too much to ask for an Ai Oboeteimasuka Remix???
I hope it’s within my budget…or else I’ll have to wait till I start working.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:28 pm
I like it, but really just for two songs. I might put this on my “to buy” list, especially since Maaya’s new album is on the way. It seems a bit of a waste sice I have OST 1&2 and I’ll skip all the Aimo’s except Maaya’s.
November 5th, 2008 at 1:37 pm
@Kai – I feel the same. I don’t really feel Sheryl’s and Maaya’s Aimos are enough to make me buy it, as I already own both OSTs. I think this collection is aimed at the people who would like only the vocals, and I’ve actually seen a few people who would want a vocal only album.
November 6th, 2008 at 3:46 am
Decision time! To get OST 2 or the Vocal Collection? (I already own OST 1) I do like some of the background music from OST 2 (Prologue F, for example), but I never got Ranka’s singles, and rather like some of the songs. I am annoyed about the sheer number of Aimo tracks. (It’s a pretty song, but sheesh…)
I’d be losing Shinkuu Diamond Crevasse from OST 2, but I’d gain more songs. I’d also lose my beloved Prologue F…As much as I love the vocal songs, the background are a nice contrast…What to do, what to do….
November 6th, 2008 at 7:14 am
Get OST 2; you don’t wanna lose out on some seriously great instrumentals from that album. AND Shinkuu DC, which is probably my favorite Sheryl piece.
I’ll be getting Nyan Tama solely for Maaya’s Aimo; in fact I don’t think there are enough versions of Aimo in this album, where’s Bobby’s version? XD
November 6th, 2008 at 7:39 am
Get them all XD
November 6th, 2008 at 12:20 pm
Oh my God, I know there are lots of Aimo repeats, but this album looks to be full of win *__* First off, full version of Ai oboeteimasuka yes? YES? (It better be *shakes fist*) And May’n's What ’bout my star in its non-live glory… and oh my God so many good songs. I don’t even care that there are lots of Aimo repeats – glad they didn’t leave out Maaya’s version
November 7th, 2008 at 4:39 pm
LOVE LOVE LOVE THEY REMEMBERED IT! Now I must too! I can’t be happier!
November 8th, 2008 at 8:00 am
Lol, oh man that cover killed me. But I wish it’s the two of them instead of just Sheryl. Here’s hoping that’s not the final cut for the image
November 8th, 2008 at 8:21 am
Well Sheryl looks pretty in that cover *__* But the background fake pastel effect is soooo Photoshop. Oh well.
November 8th, 2008 at 8:22 am
Ugh WHY is the yen so strong right now XD bah! I want to buy so many Macross goods!
November 8th, 2008 at 2:16 pm
Hey I just realized there’s a 40-page booklet included! Man, can’t wait till December… Guess I can wait till then to buy this together with OST 2 xD *saves money on trips lol*
November 9th, 2008 at 8:36 pm
@XY
the “Diamond Crevasse~Tenbou Kouen ni te (trans: In the view park)” track must be an aCapella version that Sheryl and Ranka sing near the end of episode 2 just beore Sheryl reveals her identity to Ranka and Alto shows up. But since it’s only the first few lines they sing, maybe they’ll mix 50/50 with it to make it longer.
@Naddie
The booklet will probably be mostly text, since there are a lot of lyrics on this one. If it was like the BD booklets that have line art and stuff it would be nice but i doubt it.
I really hope they make a 2 disc set with only BGMs. THAT i would buy.
November 10th, 2008 at 8:21 pm
@macdawson
“I really hope they make a 2 disc set with only BGMs. THAT i would buy.”
Me too but I’m sceptical T_T
November 12th, 2008 at 4:23 am
wishfull thinking, i guess. hopefully someone with a lot more skill than i will be able to do the same that was done with GITS SAC unreleased tracks and rip a semi-quality unofficial OST.
I’m doing that but, as expected, sound quality is not good. I managed to remove the vocal in one track but the music is uneven with highs and lows. An official release would be good news but as with most soundtracks, especialy Yoko Kanno’s, i think most material will never see the light of day except in the episodes themselves.
December 2nd, 2008 at 6:28 am
According to someone on GameFAQs, the soundtrack has been leaked; one interesting piece of info: The Nyan Nyan Medley is extended to 12:24, with some new songs thrown in.
“Is the extended Nyan Nyan Medley better or worse than the original? Is it smooth?
Subjective…..a lot had changed. Some parts are smoother, some other parts…….well, you are gonna have to see for yourself. XD
But here is the current order:
Lion->Infinity->Watashi no Kare wa Pilot->Diamond Crevasse->Seikan Hikou->What ’bout my Star?->Iteza Gogo Kuji Don’t be Late ->Triangler (fight on stage)->Anata no Oto->Aimo->What ’bout my Star?->Overlapped with Lion->Ai Oboetemasuka->Overlapped with Lion”
Needless to say, someone needs to find this. Now.
December 2nd, 2008 at 9:47 am
Yes it’s leaked, go find it now… not here of course
December 2nd, 2008 at 5:26 pm
Sheryl’s aimo should have stayed short XD
December 2nd, 2008 at 9:41 pm
[...] UPDATE: Everyone say hello to Maskerade!!! An entry from a male is pretty rare, this one’s good And yeah, still waiting to get my hands on my Nyan Tama, but please feel free to discuss here. [...]

Wow! Ai Oboeteimasuka Deculture Editio full version!!!
^^
December 3rd, 2008 at 5:09 am
I <3 Sheryl’s Aimo.
Listening to the 12 minute medley was interesting, if not just to see what they changed. A lot, is the answer. Some of the lengthened/added songs drag a bit (Seikan Hikou, Triangler), but some (Anata no Oto, Aimo) are awesome. They really changed the lead-in to What ’bout my Star/Lion, and I kind of like it, though it took out the first “What ’bout my STAAAAR!”
I can see why it wasn’t used, though. It dragged during the middle, and the ending was less conclusive, (and Lion repeated more). Still, awesome.
…And I might finally be sick of Aimo if I were to listen to the CD all the way through.
But, it was still really, really awesome.
December 3rd, 2008 at 7:03 am
the 12 min Medley has much better transitions its good
^^ and yes there is a lot of aimo =/
December 3rd, 2008 at 7:10 am
I like the added parts to the medley. It won’t be on heavy rotation for me because it’s SO long it feels like I need to have to sit down with the intention of listening to it but they really made the Aimo part of it from Anata no Oto onwards really well. It’s so good.
March 3rd, 2009 at 2:55 pm
All the song in this album are short version or long version?
March 3rd, 2009 at 3:02 pm
Those that have long versions are all long versions. The rest of them are the way you hear them in the animation.
April 22nd, 2009 at 4:48 pm
I would like to ask people who have this CD, are those songs from opening and ending themes long ver. or anime ver. ?
April 22nd, 2009 at 5:27 pm
@Paliodor – all OP’s and ED’s are long versions.
April 22nd, 2009 at 6:28 pm
@mai: thank you for this info.
Some time ago I started watching Macross Frontier and have to say that music in it is very good, so I decided to buy some CDs from it. I know that there are 2 OSTs and this album. But since I don’t have much money lately then I think that for the beginning the best choice would be Nyan Tama.
April 23rd, 2009 at 9:07 am
@Paliodor – glad you liked the OST, this is a very good choice if you want the vocal tracks, it has almost everything!
July 17th, 2009 at 9:58 am
Not being a frequent follower of fan sites, I was pleasantly surprised (and amused) to learn the “original” (Vajra) version of Aimo is sung by Maaya. Yes, I’m one of those who *would* buy a CD with nothing but Aimo on it.
Also, the medley is niceish, but… the original medley (does that even make sense?) works a lot better… the transitions on this one are much more forced.
Still, if I’m buying only one, it’s certainly Nyan Tama.
