Aquarion The Movie
The logo was first published in the Aquarion Official Blog last July 1, 2007, and bore the words “Aquarion: The Movie”, with no other details in it.
Now we have further confirmation from the Aquarion blog that a movie is indeed going to be released, and a new special Aquarion movie website is published, but only has few details. The title of the movie is officially “Gekijouban Aquarion: Sousei Shinwa Hen & Ichi Hatsu Gyakuten Hen”, roughly translated, “Aquarion The Movie: The Genesis Mythical Chapter and One Departure Reversal Volume”.
Based on the website, the movie will have a roadshow on September 2007, and has a listing of cities, movie houses and contact numbers that would air the movie. Furthermore, the website footnotes also mention that Kanno and Hogari team made the music to the movie.
Anime News Network reports: movie will be based upon the two videos, “Uragiri no Tsubasa” and “Taiyō no Tsubasa”, that were produced after the original mythological robot television series. The showing will also include a humorous theatrical short titled “Ippatsu Gyakuten-Hen”.
For the Aquarion OVAs, there was no new cd released, so I wouldn’t keep my hopes up that there is any new background music for this animation. Probably there will be new opening and intro music, but we still have to wait for further news about this.

Hello,
I’ve seen the first Aquarion OVA. Although as far as I’m concerned it’s not really interesting, and the musics used are the ones from the original anime, there is a new song by Akino (Bless4) and of course composed by Yoko Kanno (the name is in Kanji I couldn’t translate it sorry ^^) in the ending of this OVA. This song lasts about 2:38 and I extracted it from the movie file (the mp3 quality is pretty good), I will upload it so you cand obtain it. Actually I am not very confident in a new Sousei no Aquarion OST (but maybe after the movie is released…), though there are a lot of unreleased musics, this is also the case for Wolf’s Rain or other anime.
You cand find the title of this song here, it is a capture from the ending :

And here is the song :

Thanks Yyrkoon!
Someone has also showed me the song, so I also made a short post about it. I feel disappointed that there doesn’t seem to be that many new music for the OVA because I really like the Aquarion scores, I’d really want more of them! For the movie, I’m expecting another ending song, at least
I don’t feel like watching the OVAs because I didn’t like the TV series too much. The OVA and TV series gets different kinds of reviews from different fans… some like it, some don’t.

I wonder if the style will be the same? and any new vocalists joining for the project?

There doesn’t seem to be any news about that… I think we’ll wait until the website for the movie publishes more info about the music.

I fear the movie will be the two OVAs put together… It seems obvious to me because the 2nd OVA will be released in Fall, like the movie…

^ most people have that hunch. I doubt that it’s completely new. Maybe a few scenes not in the OVAs, but nothing more.
