SMAP’s 18th album entitled super.modern.artistic.performance will have one track entitled “Jazz” composed by Yoko Kanno, lyrics by Gabriela Robin and Miyuki Hashimoto, arranged by CHOKKAKU, brass arrangement by Yoichi Murata. Looks like our girl is enjoying writing lyrics recently 
In this album, other songs are produced and written by will.i.am (Black Eyed Peas), Burt Bacharach, and more.

Woo!! SMAP are super famous, so go Yoko for more exposure ^^V although…am very intrigued how SMAP will sound on the track…since….they…well, Nakai certainly sounds like nails on a blackboard

Kanno also did some arrangements for SMAP SYMPHONIC POPS (with Czech Philharmonic Orchestra).

YK did write “Song of X-SMAP” but the arrangements were done by Seiji Mutou. I believe this information to be true because this track in particular makes me cringe ^^; and this probably wouldn’t be the case if they’d left Kanno in charge.

@Pulz - where did you find this info? I’m having a hard time looking for info on anything SMAP
I can’t even find the lyrics to the Jazz song.

“Jazz” is a great track, way better than how “Song of X’SMAP” turned out. My problem with SMAP in general is that they seem uncapable of harmonizing; I mean, there are like 4 singers in that group, why must they all sound exactly the same all the time?

Does anybody know when and were is SMAP’s next concert? What is the best way to track their 2009 tour? Is there a tour anyway?

It’s not certain if there will every be another one, didn’t you hear? Kusanagi got arrested for sitting naked in a park and yelling before asking police officers “What’s wrong with being naked?” ^^;;;;
