Macross F Episode 22 Insert Song: Yousei (Fairy)

New song for Sheryl this episode :)

Lyrics by Anju Mana, who also wrote the lyrics to Ranka’s Anata no Oto… AND the co-lyricist is Gabriela!!! :)

And here’s a terrible sample taken straight from the animation:

I’m not that fond of this song and the way it was used, but I’ll wait until I hear a good quality full version to judge.

    Yup. I wonder if we’ll get one more song towards the end, or if it’ll be Lion sung in the show?

    ditto, the song didn’t have enough wow-factor this time around. maybe they’ve used up their reserves of good songs for the show.

    Well considering the venue it was meant to over awe to say the least, sounds kind of sad, but I don’t speak moon, wish I did though.

    I didn’t like it as much as Azure Ether which I thought has a beautiful melody that sort of lingers in your mind long after you finish listening to the song.

    I liked it, I thought it really emphasised Sheryl’s dramatic departure from her previous personality on stage but what was with the horrible animation – I swear one minute Sheryl looks beautiful the next she looks like Misa in drag. I think I’m a sap for these kinda songs though haha so a thumbs up for me.

    I thought that this song was much better than Azure Ether (but it may just be the bias). Azure Ether was a pretty song that I listened to twice; I’ve already listened to this song several times. I can’t wait to hear the full version.

    Yousei is by far my fav out of all the vocal songs introduced after the first OST, I cannot wait for the full version.

    @all who didn’t like the song so far (which includes me) – at least the ending with Northern Cross and Alto screaming before Sheryl’s bridge wailing is perfectly done! :) Yeah!!!

    I’ve been lurking for a while I love how much you have helped many of us who can’t speak moon get a better idea of what these songs mean. ;)

    Macross being Macross thanks for your efforts it really adds an extra layer of appreciation to a mecha series that has a heavy slant towards music.

    Thanks for posting!

    Absolutely love this clip. Shows just how versatile Sheryl/May’n is, not to mention a very sweet melody that — just as the bridge bunnies and Elmo remarked — conveys love… and not just the cheap and shallow love all too prevalent in anime these days. This is the real stuff!

    Kudos to the composer and lyricists…!
