Anyone who can figure out those lyrics of Gekkou Symphonia?

Someone from Japan asked for my opinion on what the two English phrases are at the chorus of the song. The are sang at 0:59 and 3:11. I personally thought it was Japanese, but since a Japanese person can’t understand it, then maybe it is in English? It’s not in the booklet…

I will post my guess at the comments, but don’t read it until you’ve formed your own opinion, lest you get biased :p

The first one is unclear (both of them are…), but something like

    “everyday…”

    And the second one

    “…always by my side”

  2. PerdeskiCloyn Says:

I agree with the “always by my side”, I also heard that.

  3. Maverick05 Says:

Might be wrong, but i think they say:

First one: Everything please never swear

Second one, i have my doubts:
A)You know I am always by your side
    B) You know I am crying from inside

  4. Shawn Says:

The one at 3:11 sounds like “You know I’m always by your side.”

But I can’t figure out the first one as easily.

  5. Love007 Says:

The “engrish effect” gets pretty misleading these parts… I hear something like:

1.- everyday crying, that was me
2.- let (me) know if (you be) always by my side

in parentheses are the parts that I’m not sure :S
I hope that serve something :D

  6. Xard Says:

I’m always by my side, definetly

The first one… “everything” is all I can make out of it

  7. Xard Says:

    *by your side derp

  8. Makoto-kun Says:

0.59 – Everyday breaking in despair
    3.11 – You know I am crying from inside (Maverick05 sugoi =D)

One of the best anisongs out there, hope there’s a proper english version of this in the album…

  9. MidnightReverie Says:

    1. (and) (everyday/everything) … is (in) (away/asway)
    2. You know I (fought it) by your (self/side)

    I can’t hear an ‘always’.

  10. PerdeskiCloyn Says:

Akino and Aiki have a really good grasp of english (and may as well be the ones that came up with these lines, since they’re not part of the official lyrics) so we should probably aim for something with proper grammar, as opposed to “engrish”. Also, I don’t think these lyrics are gonna turn up to be something overly complicated…

Having said that, I’m veering towards “Everything breaking[or some other verb] in despair” and “You know I am always by your side”

BTW, I didn’t see anyone commenting about the english parts of “Kimi no Shinwa” that are not on booklet (around 2:08), so I decided to give my take:

You are astonishing as a light
I need you, I need you
Together with you like a universe

  11. mai Says:

I thought it was “together we will light the universe”

  12. Jen Says:

I interpreted it as “everyday praying in our despair”

  13. PerdeskiCloyn Says:

“Together we will light the universe” does make more sense. :)

“Everyday praying in our despair” is also very likely – Akino and Aiki were part of the same gospel group after all.

  14. Jen Says:

Upon listening the Gekkou Symphonia again, I think the line at 3:11 is, “You know I can always be by your side”, assuming the words “can” and “be” are slurred.

  15. spbx Says:

“together we could light the universe”
