Lion Single Review
Apart from the lyrics of the CD and the staff credits, we get one photo each of Megumi and May’n, both evoking a feel of the characters they portray (well maybe Megumi doesn’t look happy enough to be Ranka):
Onto the songs. They are just as you expect after watching the OP and ED of the animation. Lion is a super-powered pop duet between Megumi and May’n, contrasting their smooth and sharp vocals. Northern Cross on the other hand is an emotively delivered rock song, evoking feelings of despair. I’m anticipating how both of these songs would figure within the animation. And while you guys are at it, maybe you’d like to sing over the Lion and Northern Cross karaoke versions

I’m in love. May’n is sexy and delicated at the same time. And I totally prefer her sharp voice. XD
About the karaokes, we should make singing a contest. Maybe we find a new talent to figure the next macross saga. =P
We can also give the carrot cup for the worse singer, witch will probably be mine. XD

@SMS Fabri - I’m afraid the carrot cup would go to me XD Still, a sacrificial lamb has to go first, so if no one posts first, I might do it
In any case, I’d like to start a contest like this over this weekend when we all have time to record
(Although I could already feel that I know the people who’ll get the top spots). Or maybe not a contest, just a “karaoke challenge/weekend”. If any of you recorded Lion or Northern Cross, send it to me via email at

Mai, at least you are a girl so it wouldn’t sound that bad. You would hear my attempts at singing only in your darkest nightmares. And as much as I would love to inflict such pain on you, I didn’t get the single beacuse of ost2. But go on, take the plunge, it would be nice to hear your voice.

The karaoke contest sounds interesting. I haven’t tried singing Lion or Northern Cross yet, but I would like to give it a shot. I’ll cross my fingers, hopefully I won’t get a carrot cup, even though I like carrots.

@ Kai - now that I think of it, it’d be better for people to hear my voice before they hear someone like Pippa or Goliath… it’s hard to follow their act

i’ve been watching this thread for weeks and really enjoyed the things posted here, i like megumi nakajima and may’n.. thx for posting cute pics here, i wonder if theyll release a DVD version of the live concert… :3

@gsan: Oooh I hope they’ll release one, too. But I kinda doubt it. Maybe once Macross Frontier’s finished, and the popularity is at its peak & they hold a HUGE concert… they might consider releasing a DVD xD

Anyone had listen other single of May’n (before Macross F) it was differrent from now in macross F ,I falling for her voice (sexy and emotinal voice )
And for megumi I falling for her voice too ,but her voice is clear and cute I think her suite for Ranka voice
