Macross F Episode 19 Insert Song: Anata No Oto

Does this song title translate to “Your Note”? The song title translates to “Your Sound” (thanks Pacific Pikachu!).
I don’t want to dampen feelings, but this song barely impresses me. When there is a new Macross F song, it usually gets noticed by people who watch the raws and post in forums, but I read many spoilers this morning and didn’t even see anyone who mentioned that there was a new song. Hope the higher quality version is better. I think this is one of those songs that are averagely enjoyable though.
But but but… I have this strong supernatural feeling that Ranka will change a lot because of what happened this episode, which would reflect not only in her character, but also in her songs
By the way, heads-up, the Lion single has leaked ![]()

I believe it’s “Anata no Oto” (Your Sound), which explains the “Dokun dokun dokun.”
August 16th, 2008 at 4:07 am
@Pacific Pikachu – thanks!
I did a little research on what “dokun dokun” is in English, and I found out it’s the same as “lub-dub, lub-dub”, the sound of a beating heart.

Your sound, lub dub, lub dub, lub dub
I can hear it , lub dub lub dub, lub dub
A living sound, a gentle sound
Poetic Singable Translation
The sound of your heartbeat, tick tock, tick tock, tick tock
I can hear it thrusting now, tick tock, tick tock, tick tock
It is the sound of life, the sound of tenderness
Is she singing for Alto or is she singing for the baby Vajras hatching beneath the school?

Elevator music. Light and fluffy at best and there really isn’t much feeling in it. The most I can say is it’s like eating popcorn, all air and no substance. Hopefully Ranka will have a decent new song soon *cough* *cough*.

I guess I’m the only one around that actually likes this song.
But, then again, it reminds me of the music one of my best friends composes, so it might be that, too.
August 16th, 2008 at 8:20 am
@Rick – wow, thanks for that!!! I was wondering, are you from Animesuki?
August 16th, 2008 at 10:36 am
Look on the up side, at least its not another version of Aimo. And its not that I didn’t like it. My initial reaction was; lighthearted hippy sing along song. But it is a shame they are getting Megumi to sing all these light, cute songs. I would like to hear her sing a really intense, passionate song.
I think for Ranka thats what she needs to do to compete with the Galaxy fairy.

It is what it’s supposed to be, light and cute. And frankly I enjoy it. Very much so and I want to hear the full version of it already. Accdg. to ep 19, this is supposed to be for Alto? It’s very sweet. I’m no Alto fan but listening to this song, it makes me want to appreciate him too.
I’d love to see them promote this song in one of the episodes. It seems like they do that for all of the songs.

@ Darial – cough some more. Maybe two weeks more

@Mai – hope springs eternal.

I noticed the song, and liked it a lot. Actually, it’s the only Ranka song that I like so far – Seikan hikou is just… not doing it for me at all, and while I like the long version of Aimo, the short version that Ranka always sings is just not charismatic enough (unlike say, Voices) and the “dark” version feels quite jarring. Anata no oto is just a happy, fun pop song, and doesn’t want to be more – at least it probably won’t be used in any fights or anything.

Loved it at first listen. Probably my favorite by Ranka
August 17th, 2008 at 10:19 am
@ all – I’m glad some people like it, it’s starting to grow on me too. Perhaps it was just too mellow to follow Seikan Hikou.
August 17th, 2008 at 11:24 am
It is a Ranka song. You can’t expect big and powerful vocals like Sheryl. She doesn’t have the singing abilities, and it is not her character. Honestly…it reminded me of a Minmay song. Like “Silver Moon Reed Moon”
August 17th, 2008 at 11:52 am
@ myself typo. I meant “Silver Moon, Red Moon”
I also did the lyrics from when I heard it the first time:
アナタノオト ドクン ドクン ドクン
聞こえて来るよ ドクン ドクン ドクン
生きている音 やさしい音
Note: dokun is like a stronger heartbeat. (doki doki turns into dokun dokun)
—-
The sound of you, badump badump badump
I can hear it now, badump badump badump
It’s the sound of life, of kindness
August 17th, 2008 at 2:03 pm
well, i noticed the song.
it has this twist of a 60′s music if sung by a man in a band. it wasn’t just expressed well here in this episode.
August 17th, 2008 at 6:18 pm
Typo corrected

@Pippa- maybe “I can hear it beating now” sounds less… you know XD
August 18th, 2008 at 10:26 am
It sounds average for now – I mean, it’s only a sample of, what, a minute or less? I’m awaiting more
And yay for Lion leak! I can’t believe it’s leaked already. But then again, maybe I can, it is just 2 days away.
August 18th, 2008 at 10:42 am
@Naddie – have you watched the animation? I think the refrain was played at least twice, and the bridge too… If I remember well. But there are people talking over it so I didn’t rip them.
EDIT: It was a little more than 3 minutes in the animation, but with the other characters talking over it, most parts are muffled.
August 18th, 2008 at 3:16 pm
is there anywhere that I can download Anata no Oto ?
August 18th, 2008 at 7:56 pm
@mai: …Well I’m waaaaay behind on anime these days since I’ve my thesis to work on this year xD;; So yeah, I haven’t heard it in the animation yet, sadly
August 20th, 2008 at 2:32 am
I like the song, as many people say is Ranka’s song.
Nobody (i hope) is expecting to watch Ranka become in a Sheryl copy, are 2 characters and 2 singers totally diferent.
I’m glad to listen a new song and not another version of a Sheryl song or Aimo for DDR, etc.
Mai, i like your blog, i’m reading it from months ago… can i add your link to my blog?
See you.
August 20th, 2008 at 9:58 am
@Saouri – Please link if you’d like to… I just can’t promise to link back… even those sites that I owe a lot are not yet linked in the links section (too lazy right now…). Also, the melody to the song grew on me faster than Seikan Hikou did, which I didn’t like until I heard the full version
See you around!
August 20th, 2008 at 5:22 pm
No problem, Mai. I’m not expecting a link exchange
I will waiting the full version, here in your blog.
August 24th, 2008 at 5:49 pm
gg translated it as “thump thump thump” I think its the most appropriate translation to that :p
I actually liked the song, its very catchy.. Can’t wait for the single.
August 26th, 2008 at 7:39 pm
Hey I loved the song!!!! It was great, it has a nice feeling to it when she sang it.
August 28th, 2008 at 1:53 pm
I actually enjoy listening to this — very sweet and catchy.
August 28th, 2008 at 7:05 pm
I want it!!!! I want to hear the whole song, it may be a good bedtime song, a little soothing and then BAMB your asleep. COME ON COME OUT ALREADY I WANT IT SOO
