Someone snuck in a LQ camera and recorded the new PV of the movie:

  20. mai Says:

Someone pointed out a mock observation of the happenings and script in that PV, and the person says that the song “Sayonara no Tsubasa”, which sounds like a song by Ranka, is played at the end. I think the song starts at about 00:50.

Thank you for all the links.

Well, if Sayonara no Tsubasa is a Ranka song, that means she has four unreleased for now (Houkago Overflow, that one for the magical girl outfit, Koi no Dogfight and SnT). I’m reading comments about Houkago being quite a sad song despite the upbeat feeling. I really like the whole magical girl thing they’re doing with her.

The trailer looks like an interesting departure from the series. Also, that new poster with Sheryl is great (and I love the outfit).

  22. Pippa Says:

    Loving that new Sheryl poster…

  23. mai Says:

Yeah it really is something. It’s well drawn, sexy, and intriguing. I want to see why many elements of the poster are like that.

  24. Josue Says:

I actually think that Sayonara no Tsubasa is a duet but I can be wrong.

Can you see the Tori no hito on that flag?

  25. mai Says:

That was one of the things that caught my eye, then her clothing, her expression, rocks on her feet, then oh there’s a valk! So many things on that poster!

  26. Mar Says:

Thanks for all the reports fellas.

The new song has the rhythm of a gentle Irish song, very beautiful the voice of Megumi…

  30. Knightwing Says:

I went to the Tokyo concert and watch the trailer 4 times before the concert start, from what I heard from the trailer, Sayonara no Tsubasa is 99.99% duet, it came with Sheryl and Ranka on wedding dress. The new part of movie trailer is Alto is heavily injured from vajura attack and VF-25 is damaged beyond repair and problely got YF-29 as replacement (picture in fighter mode is already on internet). Ranka met Alto when final war start (something similar to SDFM TV version when Lynn Minmey met Hikaru when final war start, does this means Ranka was not chosen? too early to be speculated). Sheryl and Ranka then sang together on the same stage with Sayonara no Tsubasa on wedding dress. Last scene is wedding chapel with 1 girl in wedding dress, not sure whether it is Alto dream or real situation.

Well have to save the money to go to Japan again this late February or Early March next year.

  31. Tochiro Says:

Expect a comprehensice report with lotsa pics. Its taking a while because I did both concerts, then Fukuyama last night, and Akino Arai tonight. Need time to get my thoughts together and cross check songs.

  32. mai Says:

Oh, I’ll definitely look forward to it!

  33. mai Says:

@Love007 – Now THAT is Megumi singing. I expected as much on a live recording, she sounds much better than what we hear on record. Her voice sounds fuller!

I love Kanno’s arrangement on Kuma Kuma, it shows every bit of her versatility. Some people might not like this song because it’s too cute or something, but the arrangement once more is superb. Between this and Houkago, I love this one better.

  34. Love007 Says:

@mai – I also like that the producers would allow Megumi sing with all their capacity and not just with the more youthful tones… but apparently that may never going to happen in the Macross franchise.

I like his voice as Ranka, but live has always been even better <3

And I agree, the arrangements of Niji no Kuma Kuma are excellent and the lyrics of this is perfect for the style of the song :3

  35. mai Says:

Hey… if you find the bootleg to Songbird, please post here cause I’d love to hear it. I heard she nailed it.

Don’t worry about her being kept cute in the Macross franchise, it’s almost over now, so she can move on if she wants to, or as the demand arises :D

  37. mai Says:

Wow, thanks for that! The bass is a bit too loud, but you could clearly hear the difference between Megumi live and her Ranka singing which is kept as the background backing track.
