Actually, kai, I believe the director mentioned at a US convention around the release of the Bebop movie that he actually thought the English VAs did a superb job, and might even surpass the original actors.

I should keep an open mind when it comes to dubs then. The last English dubbed anime I watched was the first Patlabor movie a long time ago.

I actually rate the English dub better because they did proper accents for the side characters (the Mushroom Hunting episode to be specific was waaay better in English just because of the accents), and Spike’s and Jet’s VAs were also pretty skilled. Faye’s English VA IMO delivered a sexier voice than Megumi Hayashibara, and I liked Ed’s VA either way. There was also pretty much a lot of praise for the English dub cast for Bebop, so I’m sure I’m not alone

English dub? Wouldn’t it be better to go for subtitles. I can’t see an English cast doing any better than the original seiyuus. Especially when it comes to Ed.

I actually want my own Bebop video collection, but I think I’ll buy the English dub, and I have seen prices far less than this
