Maaya Sakamoto “Everywhere”

Maaya will be releasing a “best of” album entitled “everywhere” to coincide with her 30th birthday on March 31, which is also the date of her Budokan concert. The regular release will contain 2 CD’s with 30 songs in it, with the songs taken from all her 18 singles and 10 albums. This will include Magic Number, a new song that is composed and written by Maaya entitled “everywhere”, and also mentions that there are rearranges and remixes of songs. The first press, aside from the above mentioned contents, will include a DVD that has the PV to “everywhere” and “Magic Number”. What’s interesting is that the first press is priced at the same amount as the regular release.

Actually (I’ve been corrected elsewhere) the remixes and rearrangements will be of other songs. ‘Magic Number’ will just be the regular ^^;;; I missed out the comma and thought it was a Magic Number remix too, haha. Oh the things I do when I’m excited XD
You might get lucky with some rearrangements of Kanno songs though going by Maaya’s tours last year.

And whether Yoko is in charge of the potential rearrangements or not is not a big deal, Maaya’s releases are all that matter.

The Magic number PV is the one I really want but if the re-arrangements of her past songs are as good as the Kazeyomi version of Kazemachi Jetto it should be a great re-cap album.

I ordered that CD two weeks ago, it seems to be a great compilation, and it contains Yubiwa (24 cara), my favorite version of Yubiwa! However isn’t that a bit strange that Everywhere is at the end of the second CD and not the first track of one of the two discs?

I already ranted on maayas.net about the track list, but I can’t help but feel somewhat disappointed by the track list. Too much rehash of rehashed tracks. But then that’s to be expected for an anniversary best album I guess.

p.s.I’m curious if maaya will be making the live debut of “everywhere” at Budoukan in March…. It’ll just be so awesome!
At any rate, fingers crossed for a DVD/BD release for her birthday live cuz I’d be pretty depressed if there weren’t going to be one =S

It’s so extremely rare nowadays for any artist to reply to fan mails, letting alone in 3 languages and a card *sob*
p.s.Kinda curious now about what happened to the Tanabata DVD letter mai-san sent to YK (GrandFunk?)…. It was at around the same time as they sent their gift right? I hope GF at least gave it some thought lol;;;;
