2009 Year-Ender Report
MACROSS FRONTIER!
End Of Message.
just kidding
In a nutshell, year 2009 would still be most remembered for the slew of Macross F releases that made it high up in the Oricon charts. But I would probably remember this year as the one that woke up at the wrong side of the bed, because our ex-server last year rolled back a month’s worth of posts and I was caught up trying to recover them. Thank goodness for the new server. Anyway, to move on with the highlights of the year, here they are!
1. Macross F Releases Make it High in the Oricon Charts.
2. Many new CM’s, of which the easy favorite is Shiseido Haku.
3. Kanno wins the TAF Best Music Award for the fourth time. Sousei no Aquarion also awarded for being a best seller.
4. Albums entitled with her name were also released, specifically CMYoko2 and Space Bio Charge.
5. Kanno anime live concert “Tanasonic” is performed, no DVD release announced. Gabriela sings. All who didn’t get to watch it cries. >__<;;
6. Kanno scores Kaze ni Mai Agaru Vinyl Sheet TV drama.
7. Tomino’s Ring of Gundam also scored by Kanno, but no release for both cd or video announced to date.
8. Kanno, Watanabe, Kamiyama and Dai Sato on an anime music symposium!
9. Macross F Budokan Live DVD was released.
Fanbase:
1. Karaoke challenges: Nyan Nyan Service Project, and Escaflowne, and Macross F English Version!
Miscellaneous News:
1. Cowboy Bebop Live Action Movie in the Works.
2. @(*$ happens. Anyway, thanks to everyone’s kind words.
Upcoming in 2010:
1. Surely Someday movie is announced with Kanno as the composer.
2. Juuku Iro by Natsumi Kiyoura is slated for release February next year.
3. May’n, Maaya’s birthday concerts upcoming.
4. Macross Frontier second movie “The Wings of Goodbye”.
5. A continuation of the Macross F English-ization Project, probably after the second movie airs.
Did I miss anything? What were your favorite events of this year, and your hopes for next year?
Happy new year everyone!

Pippa – So, how’s new year in Japan, and your JLPT?

Even if the entire rest of the year had been terrible (which it most assuredly wasn’t), 2009 would still be an incredible year for me due to the simple fact that I actually went to Tanasonic. Still can’t believe it, six months later!

Hey guys, off topic, but just now, I heard that one of my favorite bands just reunited. It’s Soundgarden. Can Chris still sing? *crosses fingers it’s going to be good*
