Macross F Live in Budokan DVD/Blu-ray Rankings

The Blu-ray ranking does not seem to be in the Oricon website, but usual sources (I’d say 99% reliable) say that the Blu-ray version landed at #1 in the chart for its first week, selling 12,431 units. Well done, I have been waiting to report a #1 for a while now, and as an anti-climax, I have no screenshot to show for it.

I have to apologize for not taking a snapshot of the first week ranking of the DVD, which has been released more than a month ago. I was deliberating whether it was a good count or not, because the Blu-ray was not out yet. I remember it made the top 10 though, but not top-5 high.

Cheers to the team, as usual, well done!

I think this Budokan release might be the only anime concert DVD worth owning… like ever. I really loved the thing (I gained entirely new love to BGM pieces which I apparently had undervalued before…). My favourite cuts would be:

    - Ai Oboete Imasuka?
    - Ao no Ether ( ;_; )
    - Yousei (I still don’t like the studio version much but damn didn’t May’n give one mighty performance of it here!)
    - Nyan Nyan Comedy bit (bwahaha, I could follow it surprisingly well remembering my rudimentally japanese skills :D )

    and above all:

    - Encore Diamond Crevasse ( ;______; )

Great concert, all in all. And good to hear it is doing well (which is rather given…)

Now the interesting question is… Sakamoto performing Triangler is there or not?

If it was on Blu-ray, I bet we all would have heard about it by now. Sadly… it’s not the case :\ I wonder why? Is it going to be tonnes more expensive if they put Maaya’s one performance in? Or just plainly management choices? We don’t know. That’s just TOO BAD.

    #1! that’s so impressive.

I’m still waiting for my discs to arrive. Guess it’s going to be delayed due to the x’mas surge :(

Yeah, really wish Victor Ent. didn’t cut out Maaya’s performance. Anyways, people that want to see Maaya perform Triangler should buy her Kazeyomi concert dvd. Worth every penny! :D

Well, I’m not too surprised but disappointed nonetheless. I don’t see any reasonable business decision behind this NOR do I see any technical reason such as running time (remembering all the extra stuff they throw in)

it just doesn’t make any sense. Usually “guest” artists (I guess Sakamoto would count as one) are big selling points to concert DVDs…David Gilmour’s amazing Remember That Night had Crosby & Nash and David fucking Bowie in there…

Dunno about #1, but I just received a message from CD Japan saying that the Macross Blu-ray I ordered was temporarily out of stock and should be delivered in the next few days.

I’m shocked that Maaya isn’t on the BD, but thankfully it was just that one song.
