Surely Someday Movie
UPDATE: I’ve added a few paragraphs from tokyograph.com. It does appear that this movie will have people performing music too. Also, I believe summer in Japan is June/July/August

So, one of the reports from the Japan Media Arts symposium seems true - Kanno will be doing the music to the movie Surely Someday, which will be released next year. It seems like this will be Shun Oguri’s directorial debut, and I hope it would turn out well.

Synopsis, other details:
The story is loosely based on the bonds between Oguri and his friends from high school. The central cast consists of actors Keisuke Koide, Ryo Katsuji, Go Ayano, Ryohei Suzuki, and Tsuyoshi Muro. Additional cast members include Takashi Okamura (of Ninety-nine), Naoto Takenaka, Fuyuki Moto, and Satoshi Tsumabuki.
The five main characters form a band, hoping to gain popularity with their original song called “Surely Someday” at their school’s cultural festival. Unfortunately, a foolish incident results in them dropping out of school. With their lives seemingly at a dead end, they take on the challenge of trying to turn their lives around.
Filming took place in July and August, and the project is now in editing. The film should be completed by January of next year, with a nationwide theatrical release planned for the summer.

Not surprised, I didn’t realise he was a fan but he has a message to Kanno in the Tanasonic live pamphlet which is pretty cool. I love him. The only famous person I’ve met >_<VV looking forward to his directorial debut!

I’m not familiar with Japanese actors, but I have heard his name mentioned in 4chan… has he acted out a sentai role before?

Shun Oguri has starred in jdoramas like Hana Yori Dango and HanaKimi.
I also hope this movie turns out well–such a waste of Kanno’s music it would be otherwise.
