Pink Monsoon Single Review
The single, as obvious from the initial samples from the Victor Website, contains two songs that have opposing moods. Pink Monsoon from start to end is a dance song with a heavy bass and overtly sexy, synthesized vocals. Tenshi ni Naricchatta on the other hand is a ballad through and through with very minimal synthesized background music, and whose vocal manipulation also is comparably minimal. While I didn’t hear it at the samples, both songs did have a bit of an RnB vibe to it.
What I love the best is that this single not only depicts Sheryl’s character very well, but most of all, it makes very good use of May’n's voice. While these two songs are not strongly emotional types, they still showcase her range and style flexibility.
And yes, I love Pink Monsoon (especially the bridge), it sounds really fun, can’t wait to see it animated

Pink Monsoon is great, I can’t stop listening to it! Just like that Macrossworld poster, it reminds me of Madonna, Rihanna and other western artists. I think even my girl friends would like it.
Tenshi ni Naritchatta is very good too. I consider myself minimalistic so I love it. To be honest, it reminds me of Sou Da Yo in the arrangement and overall feeling. Quite different from what May’n has sung until now.

* Pink Monsoon:
The part that starts around 3:00 is really great XD
I’m rarely that enthusiastic about Macross F songs but this one is really something: the recording must have been really hard, there are so many voices, and the instrumentation is -woaa- such an original and excellent work!
* 天使になちゃった: It is some kind of synth ballad, relatively linear (same rhythm all the time). I really think May’n improved, I didn’t like her voice at the beginning when she was performing slow songs, but I won’t refuse listening to this song ^^

LOL, I’m now listening to the karaoke version, and it makes me think about a French singer named Azilée who used to sing provocative songs (she was working under Mylène Farmer back then). The songs were a lot like that. And I just read your comments about the lyrics signification… WTF? XD
@mai: The bets are open! Will you give us a decent lyrics translation with the help of your Japanese professor ^^
October 20th, 2009 at 12:02 am
Nah Yy, I’d rather wait for a HQ scan that I can personally read XD (did you realize that you said “decent translation”? No chance!)

Favor! Can anyone rip this Radio CM of pink monsoon from NicoNico and post it over at YouTube? I really, really want to get that sultry intro as a ringtone, but I can’t seem to convert the file (SWF) to AVI or any available format.
