Continue Magazine Vol. 48, Sou Da Yo, CMRanka

UPDATE: As of the moment, the “CMRanka” title for the December 16 single is confirmed, and so is the fact that Sou Da Yo is the ending theme of the movie, which is also included in CMRanka. For those who are here as Macross F fans, you might want to note that “CMRanka” is some sort of parody to Yoko Kanno’s “CMYoko”, which is a series of CD releases containing Kanno’s most popular CM tunes. You may search this blog for more info. Megumi’s blog also describes Kanno as a “Universe CM Music Maestro”. I will be preparing a separate post a little later for the release.

Before anything, these news primarily came from 2ch, with some other blogs confirming some of the information. I have yet to personally see a full scan of the magazine to find out if it’s genuine information. But COMA also mentions that the Sou Da Yo single will be on December 16, so the news doesn’t sound bogus.

The magazine mentioned that Sou Da Yo will be the ending theme to the Macross F Movie Itsuwari no Utahime. Aside from this, it mentioned that on December 16, a single entitled “CMRanka” will be released (sounds familiar?) which also contains Sou Da Yo. Part of Kanno’s comment to May’n included her awe for May’n for dancing alongside singing the very fast phrases to Northern Cross in the Superdimensional Live. She said, “I think she’s not from this earth” which I found a bit funny because that makes both of them aliens :P

    Interesting :) But Northern Cross was not performed during the super dimensional tanabata sonic concert!

    I’ve waited a long time for this (hopefully not just a dream). Finally a new CD from Ranka-chan!, I hope they come new songs and not just the single Sou da yo,:) I’m so happy! Thanks for the news!!!!!

    @Yy – I’m open to either it’s bogus, I didn’t understand the text correctly, or Kanno’s memory fails her XD

    Anyway, what I understood with the text is this:

    In addition to that, regarding Northern Cross which had super fast enunciating in it, because in the Superdimensional live she became too good such that “I can’t hear through her fast singing”, I stealthily increased the tempo.
    Even though I wanted a rushed atmosphere, she was still dancing while singing even though the tempo was faster than in the recorded version!? Unbelievable.
    Therefore I think she is not from this earth.

    But of course correcting my translation is useless if the source text is not real. For now, the only official thing I would say is that Sou Da Yo is the ending theme to the movie, and it will be released as a single at December 16. The rest, I’m still waiting for confirmation.

    I understand the same thing in the Japanese text (my translation wouldn’t be that accurate though ^^), I just found that curious :)
