YKFan Live + Let’s Join ;)
The Chinese Yoko Kanno forum YKFan will have a live performance of Kanno’s songs in the near future, in which they have assembled many of their talented members to play various instruments and sing select tunes and songs from Kanno’s discography. Here’s an image of their recent successful rehearsal:
And hey, they would like us to somehow participate by sending a video of ourselves! The video is preferably a short 2-3 minute video of you performing a Kanno song, or if that’s not possible, then a video of something about your country, in which you may or may not be visible.
Here are the details:
Video specifications: A video in good quality, maximum of 3 minutes, in AVI or MPEG format. I am going to be strict with the video length, so please shorten the video if it is too long.
Contents of the video: Start off with an introduction, your name/alias, your country, and other things you might want to say. Then please proceed with your short performance, or a short video of something interesting in your country. English or Chinese is okay. We will reserve the right to reject any submission that is deemed inappropriate.
Submission: Please send to my usual address, it’s at the side bar. You may attach the video onto the email if you want, or you could use mediafire/rapidshare. I will reply to you if I receive your video.
Deadline: Please submit by October 31, 2009.
I am maintaining my contact with their site moderators, and they have told me that they will send us a video of the performance itself. I hope that this will get a good response from everyone. They did indulge us in the SMS Chant

Oh come on, anything will really do, I’m sure even if you don’t want to perform, you can still go around your country with a camera and say a few things?

Does the performance have to be instrumental? or can it be vocal? what sort of pictures are they looking for?

It doesn’t have to be instrumental, you could sing if you like
About the rest of the video if you’re not performing, it could be anything about your country

hmm, Maybe I’ll go visit the Griffith Observatory in LA since they used that place in MacrossF. I could throw some paper airplanes off the balcony and try to take a few shots. I still have my SMS jacket too. Now for some long blue hair and a red ribbon.
