Kanno Yoko Presents Macross F Galaxy Tour Final

Update: added a new concert date and venue at Osaka.

In conjunction with the end of the Macross Frontier series, a concert entitled “Kanno Yoko Presents Macross F Galaxy Tour Final” will be held in Pacifico Yokohama on October 13, 2008, with performers May’n and Megumi Nakajima. Another concert will be held on October 22, 2008 at the Osaka Welfare Pension Meeting Hall Big Hall. Tickets will be on sale on August 29.

Please note the deliberate misspelling of Kanno’s name into katakana letters instead of the usual kanji and hiragana, just like Maaya Sakamoto’s name in the OST 1 CD liner notes. Is she also a Zentran? :P

I wonder if the Seatbelts will go, or the Tokyo Philharmonic, or at least the Masatsugu Shinozaki Strings group… And Maaya…

If this is going to be confined to Macross F, it still wouldn’t be as grand as the Ragnarok 2 concert, but still, I feel sad that I can’t be there.

By the way guys, I heard that Maaya went to today’s Super Dimensional Ranka and Sheryl concert, to sing Triangler.

    Songs:
    My Boyfriend is a Pilot
    Seikan Hikou
    Ninjin loves you
    Neki Nikki
    My boyfriend is a Pilot
    Nyan Nyan
    Small White Dragon*
    Angel’s Colors*
    Don’t be late
    Northern Cross
    Welcome to my Fanclub’s Night
    Triangler
    Do you Remember Love
    Lion*

*Aside from Lion, these are Minmay songs, but we haven’t heard their renditions yet. I wonder how Lion was like…

I guess the date for the concert confirms that October the 17th is the end date for the show like that Yahoo Japan article said. Volume 2 has 4 episodes according to a poster on MW who read the booklet that came with the Blueray so I guess the breakdown is

    Vol 1 = 1 Episode (3 versions)
    Vol 2-4 = 4 episodes
    Vol 5-9 = 3 episodes

By the way who sung all the Minmei songs? Megumi? Also you listed My Boyfriend is a pilot twice, mistake or did May’n sing a version as well? Kinda criminal no what about my star duet too…

She did, she did! We have photographic evidence:

  4. Pippa Says:

Uwaaah it was a Triangler piano version (2ch source and…er…obviously looking at the photo!)

  5. yy Says:

Yes , there also What’bout my star and Do you remember love piaono version! I don’t think these these will being put in some album…So just Hope there will be a live DVD.

    @Westlo
My boyfirend is a pilot with two part, defferent by the lyrics.

Sorry to keep posting, but you can see the tracklist here:

    http://d.hatena.ne.jp/usshy/

And as you can see, there was indeed two performances of of ‘watashi no kare ha pilot’. There also seems to be What ’bout my star. I think it was the duet version because it says ‘joined by Megumi’ afterwards. As you can see Yoko Kanno did kira kira/alto’s theme and then was joined on stage by Maaya at the end of that set for the piano version of Triangler…hmm…other tidbits…Alto and Michel’s seiyuus were there…

But then it gets confusing, it seems they sang a medly at the end of Ai (oboeteimasuka) and what bout my star…then back to Ai oboete imasu ka, then infinity…hmm – what a show!!

  7. PacificPikachu Says:

Oh man, I’d do just about anything to go to this… Too bad there’s no way I’d be able to make it. :(

It’s my dream to go to a Yoko Kanno concert someday. Come back to the states sometime, Yoko Kanno! Please? For me?

  8. Naru Says:

;__; I want a piano version of Triangler!! Hopefully it’ll be on an OST??

  9. mai Says:

@Westlo – My Boyfriend is a Pilot has Part 1 and Part 2.

@Pippa – thanks for the link with the photos, apparently they had Alto’s and Michael’s VA do the Nyan Nyan dance. :P

I want the piano versions :c They should have a DVD for this.

  10. Square Says:
