Macross Frontier Episode 16 ED: Northern Cross (updated with Aimo O.C.)
Ooooh, rock. I thought it was going to be a ballad.
Is that May’n? This seems to have been used in the ED sequence:

By the way, another version of Aimo (entitled Aimo O.C., most likely re-arranged by Hisaaki Hogari, not sure though since the credits are a little ambiguous) was present in the animation - and this time it’s perfectly done with a Yoko Kanno + Gabriela Robin sound to it, complete with synth background and richly synthed vocal harmony. To hear is to believe.

@ZS - I didn’t realize that! I didn’t look close enough, the O.C. version does have Hogari in it, but is it really all arranged by Hogari? Or perhaps they didn’t credit Hogari for full arrangement because Megumi is there?
Despite the over-all dislike for the re-arrangement in many websites I’ve gone to, I actually like the re-arrangement.

There’s a request for the TV cut lyrics of Northern Cross - but I suppose the requestors also want Lion, when it comes out that is

AIMO O.C is words by Sakamoto Maaya/Gabriela Robin and music&arrangement by something-I-can’t-read Hisaki/Kanno Youko
I hope Sakamoto Maaya makes another appearance >__< she helped write the lyrics for AIMO~Bird Man~ as well…I’m glad her an Kanno are back together but I want more SINGING with Kanno….

I finally got a chance to listen to the song, and oh wow, Macross F makes me want to become an utahime the more listen to its songs.
