May’n, Yoshiki Fukuyama on Animelo Summer Live 2008

From Wiki: Animelo Summer Live is the biggest annual anime songs concert in Japan managed by Animelo Mix. Animelo Summer Live has been held every summer since it was first held in 2005.

This year, two dates have been assigned for the concert, on August 30 and 31, both with a different line-up of performers. May’n and Yoshiki are both scheduled on the 31st.

I don’t usually post about these live performances until we already have videos of them, but this one deserves a mention right now. As I’ve heard, the band JAM Project has already been mentioned to be in the line-up before, but now, Yoshiki Fukuyama is even mentioned to be performing as a solo artist, which makes people think that he’s going to sing songs of Basara Nekki from Macross 7… And with May’n in the set… Can you say,

“Atashitachi no Uta o KIKE!!!”

Please note that the idea that May’n will sing with Yoshiki is only a figment of our imagination as of the moment, but it’s nice to think of huh :D

For those who are unfamiliar with Macross 7’s songs, you could search YouTube for Macross 7 Basara songs, but here’s one that was composed by Kanno so I suppose you guys might be familiar with it, or might want to hear it:

    Yoshiki Fukuyama!!!! He’s my absolute fave singer in any Macross series so is so want to see this show. Unfortunately i don’t live in Japan so i’m really disappointed about it. Angel Voice is one of my fave songs in any anime series, the Mari ijima version is pretty nice to listen to. I know that someone did a fan-made duet with Basara & Minmay singing that song.

    You’re not the only one hoping to see if May’n & Fukuyama-san will do a duet, they both have strong powerful voices so it could work well. Maybe doing ‘Planet Dance!’.

    Planet Dance!!! It’s be nice if they did a duet because they have that electric thing going on in their voices, they’d sound really good I suppose :)

    (Hope someone from Japan sneaks in with a video cam… or at least this gets broadcast somewhere and someone records it and then there’s Nico Video or Youtube…)

    Also, for those with Nico Video accounts, the tour made some sort of theme song with the invited guests singing. I have no idea how Fukuyama looks like, so I’m lost… but I see May’n, she sings as the main singer of one line towards the end. The song is entitled “Yells~It’s a beautiful life“. I can also see Masaaki Endo in there.

    It’s a missed opportunity if they don’t do a duet.

    I suggest, Totsugeki Love Heart then segway into Holy Lonely Night.

    I beleive the Animelo project is actually a brainchild of JAM Project members (seeing as Hironobu Kageyama and Masami Okui are doing the theme songs), so it’s natural JAM Project is there. As for the video, the 2006 and 2007 concerts had DVDs so I expect this one will do as well.
