Ring of Gundam PV
UPDATE: So, I guess the short film really was the full work. Also, some words from Tomino from the New York Anime Festival:
Q: With the short film “Ring of Gundam,” do you feel his work is complete, or would you like to expand it?
TOMINO: I hate to make any comments about anything might happen to this world after my death, so I don’t think I can adequately comment on that, which means that Gundam will probably continue on for another 20-30 years. (Laughter and applause)
…
Q: Is the overall message in “Rings of Gundam” that we should look forward instead of to the past?
TOMINO: Yes, of course.
Source: Toon Zone
The music is kinda like Frontier’s BGM with less grandeur to it. It’s should I say, more mysterious?
You can view the video here. And I hope some generous soul would upload in YouTube or Nico Video.
Also, here’s a synopsis of the story from ANN:
The story of “Ring of Gundam” takes place in a new era long after the events of the first Mobile Suit Gundam series’ One-Year War. In this world setting, a giant 600-kilometer-wide ring now floats in lunar orbit. An Earth Federation Forces member named Eiji discovers an object called “Beauty Memory” buried in a high-altitude, massive rockbed on Earth. Actor DaijirÅ Kawaoka plays Eiji, while Yuka Hirata (Cross Game, Hajime no Ippo: New Challenger) plays the heroine Yuria. The keywords of the story are “Amuro’s memories.” (Amuro Ray is the main protagonist of the first Gundam story.)

How did you see it? (couldn’t find a way lol).
The music is a bit like Macross F BGM but more… midi like 0.0 But I’m curious to hear more ^^
September 8th, 2009 at 4:02 pm
Um… I sent you an email
The music has better quality when played in the player than in my crappy recording. It kinda sounds like one of the unreleased GITS bgm, I remember Kuze is in that scene…

Still can’t wait for the video, but thanks a lot for the sample Mai!
This music seems relatively discreet, but it also seems very serious, as I like them
September 8th, 2009 at 6:20 pm
hahaha 3:14 is so Macross F-like!
I like it, it’s not something new, it’s not something unexpected, but it’s great. I don’t know if I’ll like the movie, but like you mai, I love mecha ^o^! So… as a fangirl… lol

Tomino isn’t known for being specific with music, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he once more waved her off again and said, “do anything you want”, and she did the typical battle themes. Still works though

Seems like no one has cracked it yet. I was planning to record it on a video camera, but I realized it’s too noisy because it’s raining over here. Oh well, perhaps a little longer and we’ll get it.
September 8th, 2009 at 9:52 pm
Why don’t you catch it with CamStudio? You can record what’s happening on your screen, with sound, and select an area if you don’t want everyone to see websites you visit while recording the video
September 9th, 2009 at 9:10 am
I’ve downloaded the file, and tried the proxies, but just can’t get this to work. I’d really appreciate it if you could record the video somehow still…

This computer of mine… the one that I’m able to play the video with, is… just… gah. No space, too slow to do that many captures. Don’t worry, since someone asked for the video, I’ll probably just try taking a video + something to add the audio. Can’t guarantee when I can do that though, perhaps over the weekend if no one really has cracked it by that time.
