DC/Don’t be late was sold one month after the airing of the non-deculture version of episode one. The single was released on May 8, 2009, and episode 1 (non-deculture) was on April 3, 2008.

@justavisitor - If you don’t like a song, don’t buy it. Even for artists you like, that still holds. So you didn’t like Ao no Ether either? I bet you wouldn’t like Sou Da Yo either, Ranka sounds like she’s asking for pity in that song.

How the hell is this a pity song? Like mai said, if you don’t like pity songs then I can’t imagine you liking Ao no Ether and Sou Da Yo if that’s the case.

Mmm, I would’ve preferred a single for Sou da yo honestly. Don’t take it personally, it’s just that Baby Pink Monsoon is not my type of song. But I can understand why would they release this first, it’s more marketable.
Well, I hope another song comes with the single.
PS: btw, do you think this is the song Sheryl will sing in her Cowgirl costume? It really seems like it.

I think this single is going to be released as such because it’s Sheryl’s first single (based on the CD drama), and I think they’re playing along with it as if it’s really her first single in real life. I don’t think it’s that marketable actually, but I think it will be if it comes with a nice video with a dance. It sounds like a song for dancing.
As for the cowgirl costume, I’d prefer her to wear that to some other song, because this song sounds sexy and she should be wearing something sexier perhaps.

I’m loving the song, I have a feeling I’d love the full version! I love YK so much for her evolving style! Can’t wait for the single~ I still haven’t listened to Sou da you, haha, I’m just waiting for full versions to be honest (which is why I’ve been steering clear of the site, but I get curious at times :P)
But yeah, love this song. I guess not a lot of people like the song, huh?

i think the song will grow on you once you see it used in the movie. either that, or we get brainwashed into liking it thru repeated plays. Either way, i’m sure it’ll sell a good number of copies. yay!

Now you mention it, the Japanese text 初々しい could also mean fresh. It sounds like a better translation right? Considering the song sounds risque? I’ll just put the synonyms in the text to be safe

this “debut” single would be when Sheryl is about 15-16 right? maybe they’re trying to show a bit of Ranka-cuteness in her for this period of her career. except, instead of kira, she’s going “atashi no uta o kitte!!”

I actually like the radio (in the other post) interview, because we kinda see how Sheryl was like when she started out. That she might have had a push from Grace, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t have to undergo challenges herself. *love*

yes, definitely. that radio drama was a good listen. it attempted to show us what Sheryl was like when she started out and the many circus acts she was put thru.
towards the end of that drama, the DJ literally pink monsoon-ed her or something, right? had to stop myself from LOL-ing there
if this movie doesn’t turn out to be a scene-by-scene remake of the series, i hope they spend some time focusing on her debut and the events leading up to the start of the Macross F tv series.
ideally, the first movie would be a prequel to the tv series, and the second movie would be the events after the tv series. ah~ wishful thinking…
