I have been waiting for an announcement like this!!!

It has been announced in the Gundam Big Expo that Kanno will be in charge of the music to the “Ring of Gundam” short film to be directed by no less than Yoshiyuki Tomino. The film is also part of the 30th anniversary of the franchise. I have previously heard that the working title of Turn-A Gundam was also “Ring of Gundam”, so I don’t know if this is some sort of a homage to that.

A few years back we were celebrating the fact that Kawamori and gang got her again for Macross, now I’m happy to hear that her ties with Tomino still lead them to work together again, interestingly both on anniversary productions. Some people are already expecting her to be in charge of Gundam Unicorn too, but let’s not get ahead of ourselves. I heard that Tomino wouldn’t be directing that one. EDIT: Hiroyuki Sawano will be composing for Unicorn.
