Interstellar Flight Full Version (With Dancing Ranka)

And we once again get an overdose of cuteness from dancing Ranka, SD Vajra and SD Valkyries that look like they also just died (or rather crashed) out of cuteness. Are we supposed to memorize the steps and then dance it with the song? Nah, I’ll let Megumi suffer that XD

Oh, and if you guys wouldn’t mind a bit more news - the First Press of the Interstellar Flight/Seikan Hikou CD Single has also been sold out in CD Japan. Oricon, prepare for the debut!

Okay, I have to say it grew on me in a “it’s catchy” kind of way. Let’s say I love Platina, and I’d say it’s two steps below that, because Interstellar Flight is too plain in arrangement. The very final guitar riff reminds me of some 90’s rock song which is pretty damn popular but I can’t remember the title right now. I’ll probably hum it to some people tomorrow and see if it rings any bells. Is it by Nirvana? Metallica? *gah!!!*

^”Smoke on the water” by Deep Purple :P?
I quite like the song , thanks for the news. I find Megumi Nakajima voice very cute.

No, I’m wrong. I thought it was from In A Gadda Da Vida, but actually the last riff is vaguely like Smoke on the Water by Deep Purple.

  4. mai Says:

Yeah, that’s it, Smoke on the Water :)

  5. Naddie Says:

Yeah, i kinda like the song :D I think it’ll grow on me quite a bit once the single comes out. Video’s so cute!

And yes I love Megumi Nakajima :D I like her better than May’n - May’n’s “popstar style” can get a little bit nasally for me ^^; So in terms of singing, I definitely prefer Megumi over May’n.

Oh I really hope that the Deculture edition of “Oboete imasu ka” is the long one instead of a TV size one… One would think so since it has a karaoke/off-vocal, but then you never know… Thanks for the news!

  6. tsuchiro Says:

@naddie: doubt it, since its called “deculture version” in the single…

Haaaaah? Am I supposed to be staring at the screen with my jaw hanging open during the watching of this? I feel like I took a crate full of pop rocks, combined it with some extra-caffinated Jolt cola, and then added a half-pound of sugar to the mix for good measure.

  8. mai Says:

Extra-caffeinated alright :D Did you dance? XD

  9. Naddie Says:

@tsuchiro: Argh, I really hope not D: It’d just be evil if they get our hopes up with the release of the song and then have it be a short version… though that’d probably happen anyway >_>

  10. Haesslich Says:

mai: No dancing. Just staring with disbelief and what may have been awe at the weirdness combined witht he cuteness.

Finally someone posted a youtube link, which is great because my connection simply won’t stream the video from the Japanese link.

I adored this song. The deceptively simple, clever riff never gets boring; thankfully it’s not overarranged which I feel would be too distracting. And it makes you want to dance! Which, strangely, is a first since Macross F started (figure it’s a show about pop idols, you’d think there should be more upbeat songs, right?)

I had low expectations about this single but now I’m definitely ordering it.
