Macross Crossover Live - 5 Idols in One Concert!
Macross will have an epic concert entitled “Macross Crossover Live A.D.2009×45x59″, which will include 5 of the franchise’s idols to be held at the Makuhari Messe on October 17 and 18. The singers included are:
Mari Iijima (Lynn Minmei)
Yoshiki Fukuyama (Basara Nekki)
Chie Kajiura (Mylene Jenius)
May’n (Sheryl Nome)
Megumi Nakajima (Ranka Lee)

Macross+ not represented? Maybe Sharon Apple will come up… on a screen. Or maybe they can make a 3D projection - even better!

Wow, first Yoko Kanno concert and now this. I have to say that this year is very good if it goes about some great shows.
Now the only hope for me is to wait for a DVD with this concert. Well, if it will be ever released on DVD…

Well, they do try and make it so that everyone has a shot. Although the Macross F fan club have first dibs, there are only a certain amount of tickets available to them (but they will be the best seats, most likely) and the rest of the tickets are dolled out to ticket services like Pia and Family Mart. That way on the day they go on sale, everyone gets at least a chance to get a ticket…well…if you have the means to buy through these systems by living in Japan/knowing Japanese/getting someone to get them for you.
It’s still luck though. The system’s pretty much the same as any other country. I know my sister gets first dibs on Metallica tickets like this too from the fan club.

but yeah, i’m mostly surprised on how they got mari iijima to do this. she’s got an album coming out soon (been following on youtube), maybe this ties in as promotion work over in japan?

I’m not good with risky business though - seriously, I’d probably go straight up to a security guard and hand it over out of guilt before I could get a recording back here. I’m so rubbish!
Someone over at Anime Suki said that the place it’s being held at is huge though so hopefully over two days there will be enough tickets for all.

Makurhari Messe is usually used for the Summer Sonic summer festival… so you bet it is HUGE. I’ll cross my fingers to get some tickets the same as the Tanasonic one.
