Throwing a Bone to Us Less Fortunate
Well someone who went to the concert decided to give me this, the person said it’s in for my managing this blog for a while now. Guys, I’m ever so thankful for the people who send me these errr… tokens XD I manage this blog for the fans to get news about Kanno and such, and I do it for fun only, and I’m thankful that there are people who remember this site when they go to concerts. Thank you!
This stuff have *listenable* quality, but we all know a real release of a CD will be the only thing that could do it justice. Please Victor, it’s your time to make money. Pretty please with sugar on top?

Ohhh, awesome!
Truth be told, I recorded much of the concert (an hour and forty-eight minutes) on a little recorder I have, but the quality is AWFUL. And by awful I really mean awful–it’s hard to tell what many of the songs even are, haha. That said, if any of it is salvageable when I upload it (once I get back to the US) I’ll send it right off to you! I know at least Kanno’s solo of Rakuen is at least somewhat decent.
I’m still trying to work on that concert report. Hopefully I’ll be able to finish it before bed tonight, but I’m pretty tired again.

Megumi’s “Voices”… OMG OMG I REALLY, REALLLLLY LOVE Akino Arai, but Megumi did this song justice! I wish she’d work with YK more ;___; I really love her voice. *sighs* That said if Akino Arai was there I would’ve died of epicness.

For those who didn’t understand the Japanese guy (above), there was a part where Steve said, “I love you!” to Kanno, and then Scott topped him, saying, “I love you more!”

@all – no one’s laughing yet at Anata no Oto? For those who don’t understand, the song lyrics is “Your sound is lub-dub, lub-dub, lub-dub”, and Megumi changed it to, “The sound of the duck is…” to which Kanno pulled out the duck toy and squeaked it three times. The audience followed by squeaking their own duck toys they bought outside the hall

I’m completely envious of those that were able to watch this concert live and now I want to see a full blown DVD released of this concert >_< I’m astonished as to how much Megumi has improved, she sounds great in this concert and her rendition of “Voices” was nothing less than amazing. Now I’m really looking forward to the new songs being release for the Macross Frontier movies XD
Too bad nobody was able to record Diamond Crevasse, I was also looking forward to that because May’N makes that song sound so good lol.

just perhaps not in the Aquarion start, because her pitch was a bit off. This concert has Megumi singing in what seems like a more powerful voice, I love it! I’m looking forward to hear her sing a new song in her natural tone, a ballad perhaps.
@jason – yes there were, but they said the cameras were positioned too far, and were most likely just to project images on the screens.

That was just epically epic….
I cried when i hear Voices and Moon. Megumi has seiously grown as a singer in my eyes. I really think ballads suit her voice very very well.
And I personally loved Genesis of Aquarion by May’n. I found that her style still suited the song, it was powerful and reminded me of when I watched Aquarion.
Its been so long since all these awesome songs were first sung and hearing them again just makes me happy to be alive to see this day.

If Megumi’s voice sounds powerful off these low quality recordings, imagine what it would sound like in a clear high-quality DVD XD I’m really crossing my fingers for one though. As for the Ballads, I’m pretty sure she’ll sing one sooner or later because she has such a beautiful voice and so much potential as well. Either way, let’s just wait and hope they release a DVD of this concert because of how epic is was ^_^

Steve and Maaya together live is enough to make me buy the DVD.
The Story of Escaflowne STILL makes me cry every single time I listen to it. It’s so gorgeous and perfect!!
VOICES by Megumi suited her voice perfectly, I was expecting to her or Maaya to sing it. But giving Megumi a chance was a good idea for sure!

After working for 12 hours straight( a daily affair, including weekends) i wasted another 2,3 hours searching for the dumb link, thanks to selfish snobs (good thing i could read the required language). I have since wasted another 6 hours cutting the clip into separate tracks, meaning i sleep 4 hours a day. Now i would have definitely shared all of it with a fellow fan, but since i am a lurker i’m not obliged to , am i? Thanks for nothing.
BTW i have been a yk fan for 13 years now, have almost all of her cds, couldn’t have gone to the concert due to work. I have followed this site on and off over the years, just didn’t have time to post. Now i’m wondering why i bothered at all

I should probably not have even posted that it’s already out there if I knew it would upset people. I only wanted to alert some readers of this blog to where it is. I am bound by a promise to the source, and to the sponsor of this website, that’s why my actions are limited. Or else, the worst possible thing that could happen is someone sues the site and takes it down. That’s why I can only do so much, I hope you understand.
Also, um, I think if you got a full track which you had to split, it’s possible that that’s not the same one I’m talking about. As of now, I think there are at least 3 people who recorded, and the one who initially gave me the tracks, as you see in this post, is the best one so far.
I’m glad that you have been frequenting this site, and have been a longer fan of Kanno’s than I am, I only wish that we went to the same communities so that I could have known you better, and that you wouldn’t have had to go through what you went through to find the tracks. My sincere apologies.

You do know that they have to show loss of revenue if they wish to take up any form of legal action, right? They ban recordings in cinemas because fewer people will pay for the tickets or buy the dvds. I don’t see any loss of revenue for victor here. The concert has ended, no cd or dvd is in the making, I don’t think they have any broadcasting deals etc from the concert. Pretty much all the bases are covered here. Yes, legally they have the copyright protection act. Showing that they lost money for a onetime only because of recordings will be the fun part.

No, and I believe there are people here who will prove otherwise. If I couldn’t make it clear that this is a different case (from releases that I actually distributed myself elsewhere!), that in addition to the fact that I can’t publish any full songs (bootleg or otherwise) in this website, and more importantly, that I honor the promise I made not to distribute it completely to the person who recorded, then I could do nothing but accept the insults everyone will throw to me. I can only lead everyone so much.
Also, I do not share that vision of how to make them realize they made a mistake of not releasing a CD or DVD. Yes, I feel it’s a big mistake for them not to release it, but my method is of a different kind, and I only mean to touch their conscience/hearts with it.

@mai: I understand your reasons for not posting the links here, but just wanted to say that the comment about lurkers did hurt a bit. I come to this site often enough, I’m just not the type to comment a lot because I feel that what I have to say is not interesting enough most of the times – and I’m the same pretty much everywhere, is not that I’m making a point of “leeching” information from this site (or anywhere else for that matter). I’m sure there is many people like me too.
So again, I completely understand your reasons, I’m not saying you should’ve posted the links since you explained why you can’t. Just, that comment felt a bit like a stab to people who are not in the same group as you guys, intentional or not ^^;

Oh the drama.
We assumed that the people who visited the site would be familiar with other YK sites and it was our mistake to take that for granted. As it is, I think we’ve learnt from this situation the ground rules and hopefully next time this sort of strife won’t happen.
We should probably all remember that members-only download forums are common and they are meant as both an incentive to join up and to contribute to forum life. It seems our values disagree on the purpose of ‘members only download sections’, it’s two sides of a coin using the bittorrent arguement: It does mean free access to all but all should try to stream as much as you download.
The members-only download section was meant to be a reward, not a punishment. Unfortunately, it seems to have been taken as such and for that of course apologies are offered…its not my site but I apologise if it was taken as snobbery. A stranger in need is a new friend to the community.
Perhaps it would have been easier for people to find had the actual main site the forum belongs to was still actively updated and the forum was not a mine field of errors due to lack of maintenance. It is certainly a great resource for YK fans.
Mai puts out a lot for the YK community. She’s already put up samples of the concert as well as samples of many other YK works. I think she’s done more than enough for us and I think the site’s hit count more than indicates the appreciation we have for her work. But this site has never been a download source.
Maaya’s also has public link up for download thanks to a kind fan which anyone can access but the site encourages people to sign up because it’s supposed to bring people *together*. I think that’s been the point here.

Let’s try to get along, this is the internet after all and it’s everyone who comes here whether they post or not that makes this site work. Phew. Long post. See, guys, there are two main Kanno forums, one English, and one Chinese. And BOTH of them have these “if you just signed up to get the goods, you won’t see them” thing going on.
When I commented that they’re not readily visible, it’s not to tease, but to say a fact. It really is, and even if I show you the links, you really won’t be able to view them. And if I personally distributed in my site these such things that other people took the time to hide, things that are not even mine to share, what would they think of me?
Please do not think that YKDB or YKFan are mean because they hide these such content – Pippa is right, it’s meant to be an incentive, not a punishment. Now, please go to one of these sites, and share share share anything! And soon enough, you’ll be able to take for yourself. Trust me, many of those who posted here not knowing where it is… have found it, and at least two of them with the help of yours truly. And as true as I am to my word, when you get there, I will help you!

People, I have wonderful news. The bbs, which I accessed without registering at all a few days ago, suddenly could not be accessed without an account. And the thread , which was open for all, is now viewable only by members. What a marvelous coincidence. Good thing i still have the direct link.
BTW rayfile, a p2p program, is required. Get it at http://static.rayfile.com/zh-cn/client/. If the file has already disappeared well that would be another coincidence. We seem to have an abundance of those these days. Encounter any problems, I will get back

@omo – Actually, I think it’s pretty… impolite to ask people to sign up to those forums just to get these stuff, because, as you see, I don’t own either of those two communities, and if they find out that the current flood of new users is because I endorsed people to sign up just to get the stuff… just as I’m doing now… they might berate me for doing so. (I’m in correspondence with some of the site owners and they do express dissatisfaction with this kind of thing…) Hence I find it impolite to the forums to rally people there, and then have them leave after a few days only because they were only there for the goods. Which is usually the case, sadly.
Actually, even if you sign up, that’s not enough *__*;; There are people who were signed up previously who still couldn’t see it.
But it doesn’t matter so much now, does it? It’s either they brave the site and sign up, knowing that I and some other members have seen them flame me in this page, or they don’t sign up at all for some other reason.
@Shin – I don’t bother with these people, I converse with them. If I don’t talk with them, then how are we supposed to reach an understanding? I intend to show what I can or can’t do, and whatever reasons I do them.

Elly, I have visit this site for about 5-6 years, would have been perfectly happy to have kept my mouth shut for another decade. But I see us, the silent loyal visitors, treated as lurkers (that’s internet lingo for scum, btw) and felt that I had to do something. They don’t realise that 70% of site visitors don’t post anything at all. And somehow we keep on coming back to mine the info posted. It couldn’t be that we are just checking if we have missed out anything. Apparently we have nothing better to do with our lives. But take heart, all, most sites are like this nowadays, and being in the majority makes it all right, doesn’t it?

@theapropos – As I’ve said previously, lurkers in this website don’t matter, because you guys really get nothing for posting comments here @__@;; In places such as forums, however, lurking or not seems to matter, because they have merit systems and give incentives to those who post, to make sure perhaps that they’re not bots, or just people who are there only to take advantage of some things.
But you see, I think I’ve defeated the purpose of my silence about signing up. I was silent about this so that people wouldn’t think that it’s shameful to sign up and start posting. But now that I’ve elucidated the reason why such merit systems are done, I’m afraid that some people would feel embarrassed to sign up
(and yes, I still want you guys to sign up, I at least will welcome you!)
