I would have prefered that Maaya Sakamoto sings the new opening, but there is still some hope, maybe she will sing the new ending, and ending theme fits here more I think (something like Gravity..? Nope, I’m dreaming ^^)

^ I suppose the two other choices are to make another singer perform the intro song, or have both Sheryl and Ranka sing just to keep the two characters neutral. But come to think of it, it’s always Sheryl who sings the ending themes

So we finally will be able to hear the new OP & Ending songs very soon. Judging by the description above it looks like LION may be in the same lines as INFINITY maybe, i’m sure it’ll be fast & upbeat. The animation sequence will probably be spectacular as well.
As for Northern Cross, well it kinda follows in the footsteps of most ending themes for a Macross series. Usually slow & emotional (well i guess Macross 7 was an exception…but the last episode got an acoustic version of Love Heart). I wonder if it will be as epic as DC?
The only sure thing is that May’n will probably put everything she has into the song delivering another powerful, emotional song! Can’t wait!!!

If the OP is up tempo I can’t see Megumi hanging with May’n but I am prepared to eat those words. Hopefully May’n's Northern Cross can erase the mangled version of Diamond Crevasse from my mind, lookinf forward to hearing another emotional tune.

Well there was a new ED with ep 16, but the OP is still the same. But the production staff can leave the OP alone as far as I care. Maaya triumphs both May’n and Megumi Nakajima IMO.

Yes Maaya does trump May’n and Megumi… but not with Triangler…. Don’t Be Late and Diamond Crevasse are far superior songs to Triangler… and going by cd sales Japan agrees…. Triangler is a far cry from the Aimo Maaya sung in episode 14… now that Maaya is in another league compared to our two macross Frontier singers. The Maaya from the Escaflowne, RahXephon and RoLW OPs as well….

Probably, but the name of the Superdimension story was “The Super Dimension Cavalry Southern Cross”. If only I could understand what the japanese lyrics says… = ^ . ^ =
