They are the Weekly Young Jump, February 2005 issue, and the Rocking On, July 2007 issues respectively. I and Pulseczar were discussing this before.

You’re not on AS enough so I’ll mention this here. Sunrise are adapting the seinen manga Tena on S-String.

    Director: Kobayashi Tsuneo
    Music: Kanno Youko
    Animation Production: Sunrise

Thought you would’ve posted about this by now!

  2. mai Says:

What?! Where?! How come no one in my boards (Japanese and English) are talking about this?! Let me search for a source… Let me just rule out that it’s the *other* Yoko Kanno…

  3. mai Says:

Hmmm, there’s no source, and it’s just 2ch for now. Some people are already dismissing it as a rumor. I’ll try to poke the 2ch Kanno thread.

  4. Deborah Says:

Thnx a lot for the info! xD

Will definitely email Club Japan and ask if they can help order this….
Amazon JP is just too expensive now that there’s no more regular shipping =S

  5. mai Says:

    IT REALLY IS A KANNO BOOK @__@;;

  6. Pippa Says:

The Maaya essay looks interesting. (of course I’d say that) Well, it all looks interesting actually.

  7. Yyrkoon Says:

    Everything looks interesting!!! ;)

  8. Len Says:

@mai: about Tena on S-String, I talked about it on CyBlog a few weeks ago but since there was NO OFFICIAL INFORMATIONS about this, I didn’t thought it was worth talking about it on YKDB or here. Even japanese comments I found about this “news” were like “eh? what’s this?”
Tena on S-String is not what I call a seinen. If a seinen is something where little girls are everywhere, well… so it’s a seinen. (oh, yes, there’s a naked girl too… worth to be called a seinen! -_-).

The subject would have been great (Soul Score and all) without this ecchi/lolicon thing…
The only thing that is great about this manga is it’s all about music. I’ve read 3 chapters, and it’s… boring. Maybe they wanted to do a Card Captor Sakura-like manga but… only little maids and one boy…
    … Please Yoko Kanno… don’t do that, I won’t watch this so… please… lol

  9. mai Says:

@Len – I actually posted about it being just a rumor after that comment by Westlo:

    http://gabrielarobin.com/2386/rumor-mill-kanno-to-work-on-tena-on-s-string-anime

And for everyone’s knowledge, there are MANY annoying rumors that this and that project will have Kanno working it, and they just keep sprouting in 2ch. Let everyone beware. No official source = rumor. I wouldn’t be surprised if the people propagating these stuff are the stakeholders of the manga themselves, and are doing it for publicity.

  10. Len Says:

Oh yes, since it was “Kanno Time” because of the concert, I think some people used this opportunity to make some noise around new anime…
And I agree : no official source = rumor. And this one is a BAD rumor lol
