Continue, Cyzo Magazine Photos
UPDATE: Please check the bottom of the post for my rough translation of the Cyzo internet article. It seems to be a snippet from the magazine.
I just scoured the net and found these. They’re photos from recent magazine publications of Kanno’s. The Cyzo magazine June issue had this photo with some quotes from her in their website:

And the next photo is from natalie.mu, bearing what looks like the cover photo for Kanno’s article in the Continue Magazine July Issue. She’s holding onto that chick stuffed toy in the Seatbelts website.

Hope to see someday if she has some more pics from Music Magazine

[photo caption] From anime to games and movies, she is a pro in working with a wide range of fields. Look into the secret story to her CM music works! (Photo by Takashi Tomatsu)
“I felt reluctant to put out a CD at first. CM music is necessarily one that forcibly remains in the listeners’ ears. Therefore it becomes annoying when being brought together (laugh).”
Smiling and talking, she is Ms. Yoko Kanno, a composer and arranger. She handled the music to animations such as from the “Macross” series and “Cowboy Bebop” (TV Tokyo), and others, movies, games, CMs and other various pursuits. Certainly there are many anime lovers who like her, and she is also respected by hard-core music lovers around the world. She’s certainly a hit maker.
Her latest work, which is a collection of her CM musical works, is “CMYoko2”. It is a compilation of 30 pieces of music that she made, broadcasted from 1998-2009, and is a line-up from top-class companies such as DoCoMo, Toyota and Shiseido. However, for the musician who makes CM music, isn’t it difficult work because there are many restrictions?
“It is certainly frequent that different opinions happen internally within the company on the site of CM productions. Musical production requests come and go such as “Slow music is suitable”, then “No, fast music is good”. Because I have to listen to them one by one, I am already a counselor. (laugh)”
It appears that making music that is agreeable to all members in answer to the enterprise’s absurd requests, is “Unbearably interesting.” A person who enjoys herself in such situations that have pressured environments, is surely a pro.
“Oh, but, when I was just making CM music, when I went to a business meeting with no makeup, the president of my company was angry and told me “At least put on lipstick” (laugh). Learning from this, when I was making an ice cream CM, I said, “I love ice cream!” And because of this I received half a year’s supply~.”
And she cackled laughing. It’s her 13th year debut [I don’t get this line, 13th from? This isn’t her anime debut, and she’s been making CM music since she was in high school right? Probably her debut in Grand Funk?], from now on she wants to challenge making musicals, saying “I want to advance to Broadway!”. In July, it is also arranged for her to have a concert in the Saitama Super Arena. This music of hers that has been heard on TV, this may be your chance to be able to see it live! Oh goodness, a musical scored by Yoko Kanno would be the most amazing thing ever– I hope that she does end up trying it out; I’d be absolutely thrilled!
