Don’t Be Late, Diamond Crevasse Leak

No, they’re not here. But I can show some samples :P

EDIT: Samples removed due to bandwidth constraints.

To be frank, I thought that both songs were overproduced. Mayn’s voice had too much chorus effects. (And if you listen closely to the background, you might even hear Britney Spears. Just kidding.) But then I still like Diamond Crevasse, though I wish there would be a Ranka version :)

perhaps May’n leaked it? Nah. :P

I agree that parts seemed overly engineered, however I bet the a dozen remixes and acoustic versions that will eventually be released will somewhat compensate for this defect.

    Great site you have here!

I want acoustic versions, definitely ;D

Both songs are brilliant, though there really wasn’t any more of “Diamond Crevasse” we hadn’t already heard on the TV show. “Don’t be late”, on the other hand, gave me shivers around 4:15. I love this song to death, right from the already-classic intro to the last verse.

  12. Simon Says:

Quite sad. There’s a fabulous minute in the middle of this song. And all around, an awful voice sings an awful melody.
Buh, I want Yoko to have her freedom again :D

  13. mai Says:

Which song? I don’t think the melody is awful, by the way, I could imagine other singers delivering these two songs.

  14. Simon Says:

I was speaking about Don’t be late. I must recognize that “awful” is hard. But it’s like Triangler and some Aquarion’s songs, I like above all the backgrounds. I feel Yoko’s talent, but the song is globally annoying.
It becomes a monster, between the beauty of arrangements and the worst type of pop music, a really good bad song :D.

  15. mai Says:

Don’t be Late is a pop song, it’s definitely good-bad, but it sells :D

  16. EdZ Says:

My favourite mix of Don’t Be Late is still the first one used in the trailers and Deculture Edition. The newer ones seem to have axed most of the backing music, which ends up with the track sounding rather boring. The full version’s last 30 seconds sound close to the original though.

  17. Simon Says:

Yep, but there wasn’t this kind of songs in cowboy bebop or wolf’s rain :D ! It would be hard to listen to the entire album ;o

  18. Simon Says:

Oh, yes, there was Call me call me and Strangers. That’s finally why I’m actually pessimistic :D.
