The next performance is planned for the 22nd century…. This is a once in a life time (probably*) encounter, let’s participate in this feast’s excitement!

Yoko Kanno has done music composition and others for powerhouse artists such as Miki Imai, Crystal Kay, and SMAP. In a different field, her Vitamin Water CM in 1998 won the Miki Toriro Advertisement Music Award, which is said to be the most prominent CM music award. She lately covers a lot of ground, starting from her animation works (the Japan Gold Disk awarded “Cowboy Bebop”, “Sousei no Aquarion”, “Macross F”, etc.) up to her live action film works (“Shimotsuma Monogatari”, “Honey and Clover”, etc.)

In order to display Yoko Kanno’s music, a group of musicians named the “Seatbelts” whose members are taken from all around the world, will perform a concert entitled “YOKO KANNO SEATBELTS Superdimensional Star Sonic”on July 7, Tuesday, to be held at the Saitama Super Arena. It is a magnificent scale of more than 150 performers, whose next performance is scheduled for the 22nd Century. This is a once in a lifetime chance in exactly the time axis of Halley’s Comet. You can’t let this chance escape!**

On Wednesday, May 27, the YOKO KANNO SEATBELTS’ Next Earth Commemoration Collection Album “Space Bio Charge” will be on sale. These are a total of 48 pieces of familiar music from Macross F, Ghost in the Shell:S.A.C., Escaflowne, Turn-A Gundam, and so on, personally selected by Yoko Kanno. This CD that includes works from her entire world, and the performance of the “Superdimensional Star Sonic” in the Saitama Super Arena, kicks off now!

Composer / Arranger / Producer

As a student from Waseda University, she debuted as a member of Tetsu 100%. She concentrated on composition, arrangement and production after Tetsu 100% disbanded. She worked on the music composition / production of artists such as SMAP, Miki Imai, Maaya Sakamoto, Kyoko Koizumi, Crystal Kay, T.M. Revolution, Shione Yukawa, Chitose Hajime, Origa. In 1998, her Vitamin Water CM won the Miki Toriro Advertisement Music Award, which is said to be the most prominent CM music award. In addition, she again and again receives awards such as the JAM Gold (first prize) Award, the JAM Advertisement Music Competition Best Award, and the ACC Music Direction Award. She covers a lot of ground, starting from her animation works (the Japan Gold Disk awarded “Cowboy Bebop”, “Sousei no Aquarion”, “Macross F”, etc.) up to her live action film works (“Shimotsuma Monogatari”, “Honey and Clover”, etc.) From these works, she gathers wildly enthusiastic*** fans inside and outside of the country. She also took charge of self-produced live performances, such as the year 2007 Korea Sung Dynasty Assembly Hall Ragnarok Online 2 concert, and in 2008, the Macross Frontier-themed Japan Bushido Hall live concert. The packed audience was enraptured to the high level of musical quality and various tricks in the concert.
