Yoko Kanno as a Voice Actress for Genius Party Beyond (update 2)
Minor update: Genius Party Website has updated their list of voice artists, with proper descriptions:
菅野よう子
作曲家・ピアニスト。CMやアニメ、映画の作編曲を数多く手がけ、『カウボーイビバップ』『攻殻機動隊SAC』『下妻物語』などで人気を博す。 『MEMORIES』『音響生命体ノイズマン』などで組んできた森本晃司監督のラブコールに応え、声優に初挑戦。
Yoko Kanno
Composer and pianist. She has made numerous CMs, anime, movies, and is popular for the music of shows like “Cowboy Bebop”, “Ghost in the Shell: SAC”, “Shimotsuma Monogatari”, and others. It is her first time to be a voice actress, answering the love call of director Koji Morimoto after working with him in “Memories” and “Noiseman Sound Insect”.*
*someone correct the translation if it is wrong. I’m seriously in doubt with “love call”.
Original post:

Yoko Kanno has been announced as one of the cast for Koji Morimoto’s film short “Dimension Bomb” for the “Genius Party Beyond” series. She has previously composed the music to Shinichiro Watanabe’s film short “Baby Blue” in Genius Party.

He said that he treat this moive as a love leter to Yoko Kanno.
Well…I still don’t know what’s the meaning of these words…

(breaches the line)
…is he married?
(hides)
Just kidding. Perhaps it’s a figurative thing about the animation, and we’ll find out when we get to watch it

Another interview said, all the lines in this film was ad-lib.
Maybe director Morimoto just give a chance to YK to create a herself’s world but not by music.

@yy – So those lines are really coming from Kanno, the “If I would die, would you be lonely?” lines? It doesn’t sound like her… or perhaps she was really just acting it out…

well, mai, remember how years ago Gabriela was “surprised by the darkness hidden beneath herself”… Lines like that don’t really seem like a stretch to me.

@ josh – goodness I almost forgot about that one
