Donna Burke – After All Live (Turn-A Gundam ED)

This is pretty old, but it came to my attention just around this month. (Yes, I’m watching the show recently.)

Here’s the original song, for those who are not familiar with it:

And here’s the live performance. You can hear the plates and utensils being moved around in the background :P

I like the song, it has this old-school feel to it. Donna even got teary-eyed at the end :)

Lyrics:
After all, there’s a moon
That still shines upon the hillside
And it shines on all the dark and shadowed lands of Man
After all, when the Earth is a great ghost town
Circling around
There’s a moon that still shine upon our shores
That will shine forever more
After all, through the thorns
Through the wastelands we have wandered
Through a world that lies in broken pieces at our feet
After all, there’s a light in the darkest night
Glittering down
There’s a moon that still shines upon our shores
That will shine forever more
See how what’s give, we abuse
See how the eternal, we can lose
See how what’s always there in front of us
Never even makes us curious
To think that
All can disappear, without a trace, erased…
See how the simple becomes confused
See how all beauty is bent and bruised
See how what’s always there in front of us
Never even makes us curious
To think that
Around the bend
Is the end
Where the world will lie in broken pieces at our feet
But after all, there’s a light in the darkest night
Turning us around
There’s a moon that still shines upon our shores
That will shine forever more

I love this song, and wasn’t familiar with the live performance. What was the occasion? Maybe more songs from Turn A Gundam were featured?

    @Yy – I love the lyrics, it’s beautiful :)

@Pulz – It looks like an hotel restaurant with live music, and a quick search showed that she has performed more than once there. It’s called “JZ Brat SOUND OF TOKYO” in Shibuya Cerulean Tower Hotel:

Luckily, they have a list of performances from years ago, and Donna indeed performed on August 20 2007:

meaning… perhaps some fan just found out that she’s singing, then dined and recorded when she sang this song :P

@all – I just realized that gabu commented on the video a few weeks ago :P

I knew Donna in 2006, when I listened two of her songs in DanceDanceRevolution SuperNOVA. She has a really beautiful voice.
