MINOR UPDATE: LOL!!! It seems that Steve Conte has actually announced in Twitter last April 21, 2009 (way before we found out) that he’s part of the concert. He said: “I’m booking my flight to Tokyo this summer to play & sing as a featured performer w/ Yoko Kanno on her anniversary concert - a stadium show!” 10:21 AM Apr 21st from mobile web Thanks to icesp from YKFan for the lead.
PLAY and sing (Bite the Hand live?), and Anniversary Concert (how long has she been in the anime industry? The Please Save My Earth OVA was in 1993…). Do you guys remember the story that Could You Bite the Hand? was supposed to be a Seatbelts band song, but when Kanno heard Steve play the guitar alone, she decided to have just him and the guitar on record? I was thinking it would be interesting to hear the band version this time, but I think the solo version is awesome in itself already!

*Star Festival is held on July 7 in Japan. Looks like they made this coincide with the whole alien theme of the concert.
** Am I reading this right? 22nd Century is 2100 right?

@rox - Eeeeh! The only ones I know that are missing are Minmeh’s version of the CM song and the Don’t be Late Remix. Unless they’re compiling the ones where Bobby sings… along with the new ones coming up in the movie… but I suppose that’s not enough to make 2 more CDs right? Perhaps just one more vocal compilation album…

@Kai - Yes I like Sousei no Aquarion, but moreover, it’s Kanno’s ever-so-popular song. Japanese people in YouTube even post stuff like “This is a very popular song from the anime world, isn’t it!”. It’s a hit song that keeps being remixed and remade even after the animation has ended, and just like Iteza and Seikan Hikou, I wish it would be performed.
