Yoko Kanno at 2-Channel’s Top 300
First of all, Happy New Year!
2-chan has previously made a top 100 countdown of the top anime songs based on user votes, and Kanno got ten songs in that list. Now we are given their top 300 anime songs, which ended on December 16, 2007. Kanno gets the following songs in the list, to the left of the song title is the rank, and at the right is the number of votes:

Once again, Evangelion’s theme song made the top spot with almost double the votes for Sousei no Aquarion. On a personal note, Ai no Rinkaku is too low in this one. I’m also a bit surprised that Mameshiba and Toki no Kioku even made it to the countdown!
Kanno had a good showing with 11 songs on the top 100 spot. In the previous poll, she had only ten, but now Go Tight! is already at the top 100.
I just want to note that on rank 232 is Alladin’s A Whole New World. This poll includes not just Japanese animations

Awwwhhh i really like Mameshiba.
Having said that i think Gravity scores higher than it.

I also like Gravity, maybe the Japanese fans didn’t have it in their favorites list. Not one Wolf’s Rain song is in the countdown.

This may be the wrong post in wrong place, but I was wandering on the net seeking for what do people think about Gabriela Robin and Yoko Kanno… Are they totaly sure? The answer for me is simple as I’ve been sure of that for quite a long time… In 2001 or 2002 (I do not exactly remember) one of polish otaku-like bands singing in Japanese had their concert in Japan with Yoko Kanno and others (mostly former “Seatbelts” members) and were able to meet Gabriela… As they went to the same hotel (later the same room as Yoko) they asked Yoko where is Gabriela (as previously Yoko said that they would be able to meet Gabriela Robin)… The only answer she gave them was “Yoroshiku…” and everything was clear by that time.
All the people who work with Yoko has to know that Gabriela Robin and Yoko Kanno are the same person… As I met the band few times and was able to chat and socialize (read - drink) with them, I was asured about what I had believed for long time.
Many people may and probably will think about this as a myth, but it did happen, as Yoko doesn’t care herself what people think…
She will always smile during interviews and say “I am not Gabriela”
