Megumi Nakajima: Tenshi ni Naritai Single Review
Okay, not related to Kanno, but I bet you guys are interested
Tenshi ni Naritai as I’ve mentioned before is reminiscent of Northern Cross with its edgy electric guitars and energetic rap-like chorus. Be Myself seems to evoke Ranka with its bouncy pop tune complete with that infamous viral dance video. Pine is also on the same lines of Tenshi ni Naritai, only a bit more generic pop rock. Dajare no O-uta is the most deviant of the songs in this album, having an RnB-ish beat with trance-like verses. Definitely a song meant for a long drive at the road.
Here’s a sample of Dajare no O-uta:
Overall, this is a likable album, though I’m a bit disappointed that there are no songs in the caliber of Ao no Ether or Anata no Oto (dokun~). The first three songs are still cutesy and reminiscent of anime themes, and while the last one is not much anime-like, it’s still overtly cute. Nevertheless, still an enjoyable CD

Yeah the first thought that came to mind when hearing Tenshi ni Naritai was how closely it resembled May’n’s Northern Cross with its hard guitar tunes, even the end of the song was almost identical.
Be Myself is your usual Megumi bubblegum fluff song which she performs very well. Probably my fave song on the CD cause i love these kind of jpop songs.
Pine although not as ‘umph’ as Tenshi ni Naritai it is still a very listenable song.
Dajare no O-uta at first i found pretty strange & took a few listens to get use to it. After awhile it does grows on you.
Overall i like the CD, mostly cause i absolutely love Megumi & her destinct voice. Looking forward for her actual full CD release.

Sad how I can’t get worked up about any of the artists if they’re not somehow involved with Kanno, I guess I’ve been too pampered with her works last year xD
Oh I really love Dajare no Uta. Definitely not what I thought Megumi is capable of pulling off. I love this type of “unique” songs, not unlike Kanno works
