May’n☆Space PV
I can’t believe the song looks so fun in the PV!!! Considering how many times I’ve trashed this song in a review, it would probably be the first time I’d say it works very well. I believe they were really going for colorful silly catchy XD

Can someone please rip the video, or teach me how to? I’m having a real hard time figuring out how to do so.

what little i could read in the white text at the top was cute. at one point it seemed to be screams of “BUCHOUUU! BUCHOUU KAWAII!!”

Hmmmm, at this point I think I have to research about Megumi’s progress ^__^;;
Her single is slated for January 28, I’ll check out if she’s had any PV’s (we did have that mock dance video last year I think, but that doesn’t count
).
EDIT: Ooh, look I found a CM of that Northern Cross-like song (Tenshi ni Naritai), it’s pretty good

Haha, those fan nico vids were shown to me by AlexL, he actually sent me some more and I’ll post them sometime this week. There’s a lot more in nico and the fan comments can be so funny XD

I hate the image they’re trying to mold her into, but so far the song sounds okay – I’d like to hear something other than the chorus though xD Thanks mai~

MAY’N PV so made my day brighter despite the weather being all gloomy. I really like it. I like the song too, although it did took some few listening to. Thank you Mai!
Wow the Tenshi ni Naritai CM was done by Endo Aya as Sheryl Nome…while it’s still done rather well, I don’t think having Sheryl’s seiyuu say that Nakajima is different from Ranka is really convincing. I like Tenshi ni Naritai though.

taking into acount that most (if not all of it) of the video seems to be in reverse, i’ll say lip sinking is very good. I remember “The Scientist” by Coldplay wich was made in much the same way and Chris Martin’s effort paled in comparison.

With Megumi’s upcoming Kanno song I finally went on and decided to listen how Kanno’s not-written-for-Sheryl May’n song was (since I had somehow missed this song entirely back in 2009).
MY SWEET GOD WHAT
I never thought I’d write this about song composed by Kanno but this seriously makes my ears BLEED
This is just atrocious. Like, wtf.
I wouldn’t point fingers at Kanno for songs suckage though. I think the chorus melody is honestly pretty good and memorable in not-annoying-way and what little sense I can make of the composition in general isn’t *bad* (just…unimpressive and obscure). This could’ve been a decent song under different circumstances.
I know where I’m pointing my blaming finger. It’s pointed at Suzuki Masaya, the dude who arranged the song and played all instruments on it. He did absolutely horrible job. There’s practically zero sense to it musically and its flow is bad enough to be nonexistent. This is just utterly horrific noisy mess that managed to hide the pretty nice chorus untill third listening entirely and I still can’t make head and tails out of the rest. Maybe there’s a decent song buried under here somewhere, as it is I can’t hear it.
I’m also far more fond of Mayn’s vocals than mai often seems to be but I’m not twisting words here, the vocals are fucking horrible and ear splitting. Blergh.
As of now I’d say Kanno should’ve produced the song and give it for Ranka. That sort of chorus would’ve been a strong core building block for another nice pop gem for hers. May’n doesn’t suit it anyway.
So yeah, no dice. What a disappointment, I can’t think of worse song written by Yoko I’ve ever heard.
Thank God Megumi’s is being produced by Rasmus Faber… that guy’s got taste and style at least. Phew…

Agreed with the arrangement. The music video for this is so cute though. I think it may not fit the voice of May’n, but it fits her personality very well.

That it does and I do like Gira Gira Summer…which kinda makes the point: it’s possible to make a bouncy cute song reflecting May’n's personality that’s also a good one and…makes musically sense
I really don’t like the vocals here though. Like, guhhh. It’s not like the show is one to show off the chops with so it lacks the oomph factor and leaves listener (at least me) with reallt tortured, snarled and pretty ugly vocal take that certainly doesn’t convey the song’s emotion if I’m the one asked.

This sort of bouncy, catchy melody would’ve still fitted Ranka song and Megumi’s voice better though.
Well, too bad.
