Macross F Bobby Singles Oricon Debuts

First of all, Merry Christmas to all readers who celebrate it:

And now for the news: GRRRRRRRRR I totally missed it!!! Apparently, the sales of these two singles started on the 22nd (?) in Japan, meaning I missed the debut screenshots!!! The second day screenshot is here:

Anyway, Sheryl and Bobby’s tandem debuted on the 9th spot, and Ranka and Bobby’s tandem debuted on the 13th. Sheryl’s CD goes up to rank #2 today with 3,107 units sold, and Ranka’s goes up to #3 with 3,051 units sold, with a small margin between them. I sure wish these two CDs were bundled on just one release and they might have debuted higher.

*GO Sheryl!!! And Ranka too!!! :D

And also, pardon my Gundam fan stuff getting in here, but Kenji Kawai’s third OST for 00 has also been released, with tracks easily reminiscent of when they were used in the animation. Merry Christmas to all of you Gundam fans too. You know you want your gifts delivered with Ribbons on it. Complete with matching green hair and Sta. Claus outfit.

    The nose art probably also had a little something to do with the sales… that, and Bobby singing about Ozma. Maybe. ;)

    And can I have that Ribbons with some Ms. Wang-slapping action to go?

    The sales are actually mediocre compared to Koda Kumi’s five digits, but yes I’d agree the stickers had something to do with it. I wonder if they’d have been able to sell to the girls by putting an Alto-in-drag sticker along with the rest of it *hahaha*

    Aaaand… Ribbons SLAP!!! ^__^;;

    Macross, it prints money.

    Also Mai I noticed you just got into Gundam fandom with 00 recently, I highly recommend you listen to the scores for Gundam SEED and Gundam SEED Destiny. Sahashi Toshihiko is a genius and this is some of his best work, though not having seen the show some pieces might not have as much an impact. First OST was rather lackluster but 2 improved a lot and 3 is just wow… for the second season they were all consistently good to great.

    And if you like the SEED music I than recommend you check out Simoun also by Sahashi, since it’s done in the same style for a lot of the tracks, a lot of the battle themes could’ve been transplanted between the shows.
