Kanno songs seem to have become a staple in Musico covers, doesn’t it? Last July 2, 2008, Musico released two Exit Trance CDs that have covers of Macross F and Aquarion songs.

Seikan Hikou debuted at the Oricon Weekly Singles charts at #5, with 34501 units sold. While being the Macross F CD single that debuted on the weekly charts lowest, it is good to note that even if the Don’t be Late single was released on the same date Seikan Hikou was, it would also have landed itself on the #5 spot. The Don’t be Late single sold 42,714 units on its first week, but that would not have been enough to beat this week’s #4 spot which sold 46637 units.

(Pats self on the back for lame Photoshop hair job) This rumor has been around for weeks now, but I couldn’t get my hands on where the official source is, so I couldn’t relay it as news. Episode 13 is just around the corner and we’ll get to verify if she does make an appearance in the animation.
In the CD liner notes of Macross F OST 1 - Nyan Fro, it is mentioned that [translation by Gubaba]:
“The theme song for “Triangler,” the MBS trendy drama depicting the lives of Lt. Hikaru Ichijo, Captain Misa Hayase, and Lynn Minmay, the heroes of Space War I. Among other things, the opening “Ki~mi wa~da~re~to~ki~su o su~ru~” [“Who are you going to kiss”] won the Popular Saying Grand Prize, making it a true social phenomenon. The singer, Sakamoto Maaya, is an up-and-coming Zentradi Musical actress.”
So it’s entirely possible that she makes an appearance as a Zentran singing this song in the animation.
What just struck me is that it is quite possible now that they are going to reveal the new intro song “Lion”, because Triangler will be used inside the animation, and it might be redundant if we hear it also in the intro. Read the rest of this entry »

Amazon Japan recently turned up with the box set covers of both the Wolf’s Rain DVD Release and GITS:SAC Limited Edition Blu-Ray Release. I think the Wolf’s Rain one is gorgeous, the GITS:SAC one is a little too simple for an animation that sophisticated.
